SteezyYeeterim biased as i am christian, but if she is a genuine christian than it is 100% worth to just bite the bullet and go to church.. it's just an hour a week and it may grow on you! it is worth it if it means you'll have a faithful woman who can raise your kids well.

and if she's educated on christianity you should ask her why it's the one true religion she should be able to give you a good answer.

Cuz it is pretty shortsighted advice. Having a conversation with your partner about your beliefs and what they expect from the future is better than pretending you believe something just to make them happy.
Even if he is down with going to church every weekend he should still let her know where he is at when it come to faith/spirituality if he already knows they aren't on the same page.

I grew up in the south. Some of the most judgmental people I’ve ever met in my life were the loudest about Jesus.

I don’t typically make judgements about either side. Christian or atheist - it’s your personal thing.

BUT I have found that usually the ones banging the drum the loudest for Jesus (not in their personal lives but aggressively broadcasting to the world that they are a Christian) are the ones with the most checkered of pasts and/or they are using religion as a shield to cover their unsavory character.

I think he was trying to say it's better to have moral's from religion as to not. It's against the law to lie, steal, rape, murder as well... but when you're brought up believing there's a reason for it, instead of just don't do it. It hits differently. From my experience. It' gives the law a purpose and explanation.

Most people who are "religious" and do these things aren't actually truly religious people, it's a facade. I wouldn't consider suicide bombers or child touchers true religious figures. Both those religions preach against such things. it's the warping of the culture and power of control where the problems deviate from.

parents just got in to seatac after waiting in denver for hours cause of the airline outage. now they have to drive up to bellingham at peak rush hour my dad's gonna be seeing red lmao. honestly it's about time for them to suffer a little after i spent the last 4 years getting shafted by blizzards trying to get to their place for christmas.

anyways i agree and think people who have oopsies during rush hour should be sentenced to the total amount of man hours wasted by the traffic they cause. for example if your texting and driving fender bender results in a 300 car backup for 2 hours then you should spend 300*(2/24)=25 days in jail.

Me and said guy I work with are not doing good still. Idk, thought time and age would at least make it work. I legit only found out he was coming back when I was in joburg or I might not have.

But shit like this

So yesterday he hits me up asking me to meet him slopeside at 3pm. I tell him I'm in Clarens(south Africa) for another day. Passport stamp, getting off the mountain, first days off this season. He fucking ghosts me.

How can you wanna be a manager and just not reply to to people because you don't like something. Fucking happened a bunch but the other night on the slopes. I pushed us up to tower 7(8 is the top) I was pretty sure that was the plan anyway. He asked me what I was up to and how it was going. Gave him a quick detailed recap..... radio silence.

I think right now my plan is to make it to the end of the month and then I'll switch to ski school. I'm a great teacher but hate teaching as a job if that makes sense. But that said if I teach I'll have 1 day off a week, clock out at 430 and have a life. this shit aint working. I don't get paid enough to even be here let along work 7 days a week, be on call for shit 24/7, and get angry voicemails on whatsapp when he's pissed off.

I'm fucking good at my job, I do a great job with no supervision because I care. I get some oversight but angry voicemails, micromanager bs, ghosting me if he doesn't like something I send him? Fuck that. Fuck this guy. Legit the ONLY reason I didn't come back to afriski in 2018 and will 100% never come back here. Fuck this place.

Awesome people but man, if people like that are moving up in management? Yikes. See you never. People talk about the vails etc for running things shitty while payng so little. Man, I agree, but this is so much worse. Nothing like losing money to live in a country, work 7 days a week, sometimes 14+ hour days and then get angry voicemails because your boss is a cunt.

I wish the best for Afriski. I really do. But fuck that guy, and absolutely never coming back here. Good luck hiring people you ass

Anyway dude just reached out to me while I was typing that and is pissed I'm not back up at the mountain. I really don't give a fuck. I'm a hard worker but I lose money to be here. 7 days a week long hours? All good. I'm good at my job. You treat me like shit on top of that? Man fuck you I'm out.

Either switching to ski school or maybe booking an earlier flight home. Afriski is a cool place but this dude sucks. I'm not getting sucks into his negative spiral just because he's a miserable asshole.

Some people are just toxic. Hoped it wouldn't come to this but was scared when I heard he was back. We literally picked up where we left off. Him just being an ass for whatever reason. Asking you questions and then never responding if he doesn't like the answer.

Idk, some people are not cut out for management. It's been a fun experiment coming back. Otherwise people are cool, energy is coming back, but I will never work at this place again. It's a shame really but in a workplace setting absolutely fuck that guy

It's wild. I care so much about the ski industry. Building fun safe shit for people to hit, grooming out nice slopes. But legit I don't care if I quit or get fired for being in Sa for a couple days. That place sucks to work at because of one person.

I went back to my home mtn in NY when I was injured, got donations and built them rails and a park for free. For friggin free. It's never been about the money for me. I love giving some cool shit back to the younger generation that's down to thrash themselves learning tricks.

Afriski is a special place, it will always be. It just sucks that the same person who pushed me out years ago is about to do the same now. I came back here for all the things afriski is again and used to be. I didn't come back to work 7 days a week, lose money, and hate everything because this dude is miserable.


Really unfortunate. I guess as much as I've wondered how it would go if I came back, now I know lol

So Phone is fucked. Laptop is kinda fucked. Friend was trying to video call me on FB but it wasn't letting it go through. I didn't throw it but dropped it but concrete floor so after 4 years she kinda done.

I gotta go sort out some things with the police before I can leave but nothing too crazy. Pissed they stole my fucking makers mark that shit aint cheap here. At least let me drink some bourbon and freedom!

No idea how I'm getting back to Lesotho. Basically kinda stuck.
