I figured if we could rant somewhere we'd be more docile creatures in the rest of the forums.

I feel like people are just addicted to FB marketplace/sale groups.

They'll try and sell every piece of shit broken thing for too much. Just annoying. Or just clog up groups nickle and diming for clothes. Like just donate the things.

If your thing is broken or you dont even know if its works/is any good dont try to get top dollar. Marketplace and those flea market type shows got to peoples heads. Shits wack

The kids clothes people and those selling other trash in groups too. Ive had to leave groups because it was just the same ladies selling trash all the time.

I just try to give stuff away to friends and neighbors. Most of the stuff I'm clearing out are kid items so there's a good network of hand-me-down used stuff amongst my peers.

I always put shit on the curb for free when my neighborhood does yard sales. Not worth my time trying to make $20 off my junk.
if it does make it to Facebook usually trying to get rid of it fast. only exception has been my wife's mountain bike that has less than 50 miles on it, was trying not to lose my ass to bad on that, but now it's just collecting dust in my garage.

PacificRimJobThats's what I'm saying man... the whole housing market in America has been turned into this whole investment commodity thing to a gross degree... We have so many houses just sitting vacant all over America while the homeless live in tents and people struggle to find places to rent. I can drive through my old neighbourhood in Truckee past hundreds of vacant houses while people in town struggle to even find long-term rental opportunities.

Nimbys care more about the bottom line of their individual home value than they do about the community around them, and suppress developments or zoning law changes or anything positive from happening that would help fix this housing crisis American cities are in. It's part of why our infrastructure is stuck in the 1950s and there's no real improvement in any meaningful way.

People end up having to move further and further away from the places they work just to afford a home, or find a place to rent, and then have to spend more money on gas and burn more fuel and waste more time in bumper-to-bumper traffic in order to get there.

The whole thing is a bit of a joke.

I mean obviously this country has it's own shitty, stupid ass problems. Property here would cost a lot more if it wasn't a rapidly shrinking population with rapidly aging demographics. But I guess at least here, you don't have nimbys with any real power - especially to file lawsuits preventing residential development, the housing market isn't as heavily commodified, the zoning laws are lax enough that you can build anything almost anywhere that's up to code, and dense, mixed-use, transit-oriented developments are the norm even out in the countryside in order to maximize usage of space, arable land, and contain the community in a healthier way.

Just in my neighbourhood... I left for a few months to run the shop in Hokkaido and take care of some business in the USA, and I came back and entire older, deteriorating buildings had been demolished and rebuilt within a matter of months. The people living there might have been displaced a bit, but there's also a nearly endless supply of options for new places in the area to move into. Developments go up QUICKLY and nobody even gives a shit because theyre done faster than you can make a formal complaint about the noise.

Whereas whole city blocks in America will sit vacant because nimbys in the area disagree with what developers or the city want to do them... Japan might have people who are unwilling to abandon the fax machine, but America has people who are unwilling to allow their entire cities to improve because they're afraid they will have more competition to park their F150s that they never use in any practical way - or umpteen other stupid, petty, lame reasons. It's fucking infuriating dude.

Had a dental hygienist absolutely shove her metal pick in between my gum and my tooth so deep on two of them that Im still in pain a few days later. I think whatever damage she did might have gotten infected because Im feeling a ton of pain from that tooth all the way up to my nasal pasages on the right of my face. Feeling so fucked. Gonna call back tomorrow moring to cancel my next apointment with them and try and get seen by someone else. Maybe she was doing it right idk but Ive never had someone go that hard on my gums before. Bitch looked at the pain on my face after she did it then did the same thing to the next tooth she touched then treated the rest of my teeth like a sane hygienist would've. Idk what I did to piss that fat bitch off but I must've. So annoying because they can easily ruin your teeth if they arnt careful and Ive never even had a cavity but now my face feels like I was hit by a brick for my first night off in two weeks.

Yeah, it's pretty frustrating, as the price of it should be way less, but American rail is just soo bad so often that it makes people just not even consider it.

The whole system could be electrified with awesome stations and lockers in each station etc.

Which is ridiculous because the country was practically built by it.

The good thing is a lot of metro areas have some form of railed public transport, the problem is that it's usually intertwined with park-to-ride crap out in the suburbs because it came too late.

I'm pretty sure LA is the largest city on earth without any real properly decent metro system. It's metro there isn't widespread enough to even be useful in Richmond, VA, much less a metro area with a population of like 18.5 million

Whatever path life took you down sucks and I have empathy but don't be a dick and refuse to sign AMAs, elope out of the hospital, and be bitchy with nurses/doctors/techs about your care plan and procedures like you have the education background in it.

Like its really hard to feel bad for some of these people when they get all pissed-off they have to have an IV placed but refuse a straight-stick needle for blood draws. Get over it. You're in a hospital. Maybe don't call 911 if you don't want to deal with it??????? One of the best pieces of advice ive received so far is "They're the ones who got hurt and called you, not the other way around."

ngl where I work has a sick cafeteria. They bring in local food spots to provide meals M-F for super cheap and I can always get a dank-as-fuck chikken quesadilla. I've been living on Ramen and hospital sandwiches since March.


IVs fucking suck though, I get it. But it's better than drilling one into your bone via IO. You don't want that shit dude. I've been like 3 for 5 in the last few days and it's pissing me off but peoples vasculatures are totally different. I worked bedside for a critical seizure patient yesterday and stuck that thing in first try like it was butter and I was stoked. I might be going insane tbh.

I also hate needles myself but I play ball. I've been stuck plenty of times in my life. I still get queezy seeing my blood get drawn. I do not miss the summer of 2019 one bit where I nearly cut my foot-off and they pumped me with a shitload of fent and other fun fluids.

Nurses didn’t let me eat or drink almost the entire time I was at the hospital so I had to sneak food. Also I feel like I would’ve been able to recover 10x faster without the stress/pain of having an iv and just being in a hospital in general

I get it. I hate telling people that I have to "Run it past my care team" for just having a pack of crackers, but apparently it doesnt mix well with meds and IV fluids. I get it though. Been there. One of the greatest meals I ever had though was post-discharge McDonalds. Shit changed my life being loaded on pain meds.

Friggin skatepark pebbles. Tried to find a broom. Local skatepark is litered with pebbles and things. I spent time kicking them all off. Obviously csnt get em all but got all you could really see.

Got bodied by one. Had a nice skid and then over the bars. Alright but damn concrete fucking hurts. Otherwise good first day back on a board. I've skated maybe 3 times since last august so its been a while. And this was prolly the longest I've skated.

Gonna track down a broom and try and keep it clean. Idk why skateparks put small rock everywhere along side. The mtn bike ish kids or playground style kids knock them in real easy.

Park is pretty fun though. Felt good to role around. Not the best design and only 3 year old but already falling apart a bit. Angles are pretty good. Weird layout in part but it works.

Park is like a block or so from home so I'll def try and roll around this season.

Wanna hear something craaaazy?!

A "Table Spoon" is the same measurement as a regular dinner spoon.
You can literally open your kitchen drawer and just use a regular, normal ass spoon to measure a TBSP.

But WAIT, there's more!

To-Go containers from Deli's come in standard sizes of 8,12,16, 24, and 32 oz. Meaning you can literally just use old take away cups from your cupboard to measure ounces out.

BUT WAIT, THERES STILL MORE!

8 oz are in a cup, so you can also use those containers to measure 1 cup, 1 1/2 cups, 2 cups, 3 cups, and 4 cups respectively.

PacificRimJobSo, I just bought Oreos for the first time in a WHILE.. and they definitely nerf'd the size of these things. What the fuck! Did I just get bigger or did Oreos get way smaller!

It's not even 3cm wide anymore and it definitely used to be like 4cm.


and they probably cost twice as much

They were like 7$ at the costco reseller. overpriced as fuck, but I went for it because I hadn't had them in years.

then I find out that they've been hitting them with the shrink ray from 'honey I shrunk the kids'
