Yeah I know there were some rant threads over the years grinds my gears and whatever. I don't think any of them were that happening to dig up. I probably made one of them honestly. Whatever.

I figured if we could rant somewhere we'd be more docile creatures in the rest of the forums.

Have constantly not felt like i’m doing a good enough job coaching compared to the previous one i shadowed. despite parents reassurance i’m doing great. not feeling like i’m meeting the parents needs cause i have some parents who were mtn school and worldcup racers. along with a noticeable split.

but today i got sat down by the director and told that three of my parents along with the race director had noticed how good my group was skiing and what a job i did managing 9 five yearolds on my own which felt really good. I also got a long text from those parents telling me how happy they were with me after the crowds of the long weekend, races and having those numbers.

still subconsciously worried about pleasing them and what not but that did feel good

idk not rly a rant but i always place more pressure on myself than i should but idky and it feels bad and ik i do it so i shouldn’t but like who knows

im screwed. my stupid dad got me into skiing and it's the only thing i care about now and i am extremely pissed off when i can't do it. i can't ski anything cool when im by myself because my dad won't let me, and the stupid freeski program at mrg doesn't want to put me in the only group of kids that i would enjoy being in. they're all my age and they're all really good. i don't want to fucking be in a group of seventh graders who can 360. i don't fucking care if they can 360 they're 13 years old and im not going to have a good time. i can keep up fine with the kids my age. im not as good but they'll push me and help me to become a better skier, im not going to become a better skier if i'm one of the best in the group. i fucking hate it when the stupid kids in the group dont want to do a trail or a glade it's like man the fuck up and test yourself. it's so infuriating and im just stuck. i want to ditch school and go skiing but again i can't because im fucking stuck on groomers unless i get my brother to come but even then it's just not the same as skiing with friends.

Trying to make it through the season. Idk. Been feeling like that for a month. Least stoked I've been working in parks in a long time maybe ever. I think if I come back next year I'm just winching full time or not coming back. No park unless I go somewhere else.

Threw jumps back up yesterday. They seem okay. Idk. Feel like it's killing my soul this season. I fucked up by not going to Norway. I know why I came back. But I wish I didn't. Like the mtn and most of the people I work with but it's too much bullshit. Getting thrown on a new random trail every year.

Have more help this year so I should be less stressed and our parks better. I feel like our park isn't as good and I'm more stressed.

I think maybe it's just time for a move. Is what it is. Trying to sort out some housing shit and make it till the end of the season. I might end up taking next season off of parks even if I leave. Idk. Not hyped on things

My philosophy day in and out was to A): Have fun and B): Keep it safe. Everything else comes after. Keep it fresh and fun and kids will still keep skiing. I still stay in touch with my homie athletes that I worked with over the years and they're hitting the highest levels of skiing yet. I used to have full on panic attacks and stress myself out every single day but parents were incredibly generous and thankful for the help, and even took laps with us, bought us coaches food/drinks at the end of the day, tipped us, etc. Just keep up the stoke and passion and the kids will follow through and take inspiration from it. It's about podiums always.

Also told I could get laid off by working less than 38 hours a week even tho I request Four-10s to maintain my FT/YR status plus coaching on my days off. What the fuck is wrong with people in Park City/Utah?

he’s half bloodhound and I adopted him as an adult so his recall is shit unless I straight up yell angrily at him. It’s silly to expect people to constantly go get their dogs every time the gate gets opened. Hell half the time he’s off in some corner sniffing something and doesn’t care when a new dog comes in. If people want to stand by the gate and grab their dogs then that’s fine. Don’t grab mine by the collar though.

I don't know about the Southeast. The plant is native to Argentina, grown as an ornamental in a lot of places, and has naturalized on the California and Oregon coast. It's a weed and difficult to eradicate. Leaves are sharp as hell along the edges as well.

TOAST.Did you get a dui recently or something? The one time I had a breathalyzer around to see what level I was at I remember .08 being well past a point I would consider driving. In my state difference between .08/.099 and .016+ is pretty significant.
Once again I would much rather people be scared to drive if they think they are a little intoxicated then them risk it and find out they are a lot worse than they thought.


20 years ago, been out of trouble ever since just still pissed at the cops I guess lol.

I really hate how some people don’t understand that skiing calms me down and keeps me grounded…. Just like going to the gym to let off some steam, or running in the forest... After a shitty week it feels so good to go on a long drive and ski for a few hours alone to get my mind off shit.

But I can’t tell people that, it’s like they assume that I’m going up there on a luxurious vacation to hit the hot tub after in a fancy chalet and drink expensive wine. That’s totally the wrong idea. It’s always been a healthy outlet

patroller for a resort that shall remain nameless for the sake of it. I've been told through the grapevine that they really aren't turning profits as much as they expected to be, are losing money, and are starting to clamp down on each departments labor budget i.e meaning short-staffing on purpose or cutting hours, refusing to pay OT, etc. idk dude, im just confused and want the straight answer. I have health insurance through this place and i really fucking need this job on top of the entry level experience, but its been pretty brutal this winter. I think people are hitting the burn-out stage and are just being assholes to each other. The lack of care for other co workers or departments is sad. Plus it being the busiest winter in almost 2 decades out west here doesn't make things better in terms of crowds and people.
