Yeah I know there were some rant threads over the years grinds my gears and whatever. I don't think any of them were that happening to dig up. I probably made one of them honestly. Whatever.

I figured if we could rant somewhere we'd be more docile creatures in the rest of the forums.

Also my subaru almost ended up being sold today. Got very close to my dollar amount of "it costs more to fix than it's worth". Cheers to a new year and cheers to $2400 right out my pocket. Fuck.

Did you ever get almost manic or ultra motivated in the days/weeks after stopping? Every time I go on a tolerance break or break for job searching, I get wicked motivated, like adderall motivation. Plus you don't have the urge to eat either so you end up being a goddamn machine with task completion.

That was kind of my point the dad that rolls a stop sign and is one glass of wine over gets the same penalty as the blacked out guy that didn’t remember leaving. I know there are stiffer penalties in some states for higher BAC but it’s not effectively any different. And again, people don’t like to talk about this but drunk driving was legal/effectively not enforced for decades because most people can regulate themselves well enough to drive a car, although enough people in society cannot that we can’t operate on the cowboy system anymore, it’s not fair to those that get killed and maimed for no fault of their own.

People who aren't good or are big fish in a small pond decent talking shit about places. We have a small park. We just got a ton of rain, we actually have a decent park up. Nothing too fancy but not a park mtn. Parks been growing. In the process of getting our jumpline up and another park, but need a little more snow. Also trail we've never had a park on. Idk annoying when people think being a dick helps get them a better park. Go ride somewhere else honestly at that point. Especially if you're kinda meh. People like here because there isn't a ton of talent so they seem good.

Idk, same as it ever was but people complain about pretty nice parks these days across the board. Wish people got to ride some real shit. Some people could use it. Still going to get shit built, but people are prollly like "See i talked shit and it got built" like nah dude. It was getting built and you were just being annoying.

Everyone is still gonna work just as hard to get a good park up, but people hating unnecessarily is dumb and doesn't help productivity. I think sometimes it's just a weird attempt at a flex about how "good" they are.

Same as the people who complain about wanting huge rails or jumps but don't hit the biggest stuff you have.

Idk, the usual just worse these days with people being more entitled to better parks.

Did you get a dui recently or something? The one time I had a breathalyzer around to see what level I was at I remember .08 being well past a point I would consider driving. In my state difference between .08/.099 and .016+ is pretty significant.
Once again I would much rather people be scared to drive if they think they are a little intoxicated then them risk it and find out they are a lot worse than they thought.

yeah it's definitely like that, the energy you get going cold turkey from a habit is insane for a while. I took a dab after months of sobriety following all that and I got so high it was unenjoyable, I genuinely don't know how I used to live like that

This guy from one of my college classes was in his 8th year or so. Was at this frat house and saw his room, dab glassware and whippets everywhere. Stuff fried him. Even slept in this plywood human cage that sat in the corner.

Some (all?) places you can get dwai for anything above 0.00. but yeah i remember my first time blowing into a breathalyzer and being like damn .08 is buzzin for sure.

Fucked up my leg in Vietnam in early September. Came back to America late September. Went to a doctor. Got referred into wound care. They get the referral and contact you when to come in kind of thing.

Anyway, they never hit me up. I had dipped anyway and went to CA because I have healthcare there. Anyway, just got a call now, into January from the wound care place about scheduling an appointment. Like for real? I get if they forgot and were like "Hey we forgot, sorry do you still need this?" But acting like it was just standard procedure? Like dude, I got referred there because I had a fucking hole in my leg. At this point I've either dealt with it, I'm in care in the process, or maybe I've died by this point.

2 and a half 3 months later? Fuck that. Idk thought that was pretty beat.

i get why you would get annoyed by that, coming from where you come, and i always appreciate being able to ski whenever i ski, but it's unrealistic to expect people to just not saying anything about it. i mean, it can get pretty frustrating sometimes. ski season isn't that long. here in the east for instance, we just got 2 ft of snow two weeks ago, and it all just melted on friday. it's also a way for people to cope with it, misery loves company.

it sucks, they make us log on for the first 20 minutes of every class but don’t really give us any work which is honestly worse then actually doing work for the whole hour cause i’m just sitting at home with 40 min intervals of free time where you can’t really do a whole lot. makes you feel like you wasted a day

I take care of my uniforms and try to keep them clean but everyone's shocked at work that ski gear gets stinky after a while cuz you use it. Like sorry I skied a lot????

We’re having our kitchen redone and I didn’t know the electrician was going to be here with my dad and he turned off the breaker for my room, which turned off my heaters, filters and lights on my aquariums. My larger tank was perfectly fine but my small quarantine tank that’s right next to the window was not. Lost a almost 60$ pair of fish and that’s not what i’m upset about, (well not the money) but just the fact this was my first pair of rare apistos and my dad was home so ik he would have noticed the lack of sound or trickle of water, and he knew how hard it was for me to get them in our area, plus i have been growing them out and conditioning them for spawning as a little side project to make some cash and see if i could do it.

I left home at 6:30am today to go to winter park. The traffic was 4 hours and 30 minutes long from Denver. Then everything was parked out. Then the shuttle line was so long when we did find a spot. Fuck that. Never again. I’m good. I can wait until late season. I’ll stick with Loveland and A Basin. Thanks but no thanks. Worst ski traffic of my life by a lot. Not worth it. I, also, never leave that early. Fuck it all around.

Ouch dude. I feel that. I put 2k into mine this summer. Wheel bearing and some suspension shit. Idk its old but it runs. Hard to buy a car right now. Of course after i fixed it buddy hit me up selling his sub for 3k with 75k miles and another friend was selling his tacoma. How she goes though

Pretty much. Was dirtbiking around. Went up along the chinese border for a while. Some of the roads are 1-1.5 lanes paved, some aren't paved, some are being built.

Trucks still yolo it up around the curves. I could have probably brapped it out going around one and stayed out of the ditch but I laid it down to stay out of the ditch. Didn't really have time to think. I think I clipped a rock in the road. Couldn't find anything but fileted my leg. Took it down to the bone and took the corner of the bone off.

Got 2 a hospital a dsy and a half later and was already pretty fucked. They weren't sure if I was keeping the foot or not. Got there pretty quick so seemed optimistic. Spent 2 weeks in the hospital there. Missed my flight home and my best friends wedding. Badly culminated through google translate, did a bunch of antibiotics, played my mini martin guitar for a bunch of doctors while hooked up to an IV, and kept rhe leg/foot.

Still having some issues with it but I've gotten out on the hill a little now and the skatepark. At least feels pretty good walking around. Probably will always be a little bit fucked but it could have been a ton worse.

Hoping I can get back to a decent level on the mtn. Just taking it ine day at a time and having fun being shitty

the movie industry is unable to put the actual sound of the bike lol. they put sport bike engines over dual sports and cruisers and 2 strokes over some sport bike or scooters. and everything has a million gears

it’s painful when hollywood does anything related to cars or motorsport in general cuz there’s always something totally useless thrown in.

watched the batman for the first time last night and i gotta say the batmobile is pretty dumb in that one. the turbine is like useless and for some reason he takes like 45 seconds to just fire up a v8???????

Prolly just the injuries speaking but I miss summer hella. Warm Weather, girls, Cliffjumping, sending crazy shit off the diving boards, offroading, doing dumb shit every day with my buddies, parties every night and hiking 14ers the next morning and shooting rifles with my buddies, warm slushy laps at a basin, lake days, no i70 traffic. Winter without skiing is depressing, Its just cold and it’s dark and boring tbh

i honestly could live in like South Carolina or Georgia or alabama and be happy asf but then again it’s prolly just cause I haven’t skied In 5 weeks so I’m just going crazy
