Yeah. Trying to stay. Got some more solid job offers after putting the feelers out a couple weeks ago. But yeah. I don't think ill be here too many more seasons but I'd like to go out naturally when we kind of peak in what we can build in the terrain we're given. Not over some bullshit.

A lot of the lower management and sups are core. Hell even some of the upper management. It's the higher up in the big momma company that are making aome fucking questionable decision.

Other ranting

Friends were posting yesterday, everyone had to be out of b lot yesterday. They've been trying to move since like August. And was "2 weeks" away then. All this time goes by, huge storm cycle comes through, then we realize holiday break is coming and tell them to gtfo and move. So all their trailers were fucking buried as shit. Luckily a lot of operators so brough the skid steer and mini ex out but still lots of time and work, woulda been wayyy easier if shit was in order months ago.

New lodge going up. Food situation and seating is not great. Hired a company for the lodge that didn't get shit done. Even with a gorgeous September. Progress hasn't exosted in a couple months. Saw some people banging on the roof a month ago for a day or two. Nothing close to being walled in.

That means base area shitshow will likely continue for next season. We're supposed to be replacing rex soon. Summit house might be this next summer too.

So lot's of hectic shit. So, they couldn't get housing figured out for shit when things were mellow, things aren't going to be mellow for years if ever. Company peeps jist tell people what they think they want to hear. One of the main dudes lied to me about so much shit in b lot this summer. I called him out and told him just to be straight up, we don't want lies. Idk it's frustrating. I don't think they understand that they can't staff this mtn from enumclaw. Also like many places forget that not every staffing issue can be j1'd away. First not gonna be able to get enough j1s, second a huge majority of the mtn was displaced when they tore down housing. The trailers that remain are kicked off next year.

I'm not unrealistic expecting all the best shit, but they're legit hurting themselves in addition to employees. People making the big bucks in a big corp that seem to be flailing at every decision and landing on pretty sketchy choices.

It feels like a mediocre reality tv show or something.

I'm still fucking sick from a week or so ago. That 40 degree apartment kicked my ass.

Didn't specifically solve the food thing at all but got rent dropped significantly which is dope. 2 friends are getting a deal cause they got the meals but its dropped less than what it would have been opting out so i can't complain even though I'm still never gonna eat the meals really. Gotta get my sleep.

Some bad decisions were made, shit was kinda bunk, people were blowing them up about it they seem to be trying to do right on ot which is cool.

Not super cheap rent but significantly less. Would have been fucking stupid to walk over food and housing bullshit. I mean I would have done it, and would be what it is, but letting people go over stupid shit like that. Idk that's not smart.

Welp, said person moved in apperently. I guess that's why I got hit up about the price break. Failed to mention addition people. Idk it's whatever, it is what is is. I'd rather have somebody have a bed then be on the couch in the living room. Actually wasn't here that much the last week. Just using the bathroom and kitchen occasional or hanging out once in a while. That was a surprising twist though. Seems like she's trying to be cool about it now that shes in. Doesn't seem loud and or messy.

At least as long as it's not fucking loud and I can sleep in the day. You already don't get enough sleep in this industry, not fucking with skipping that.

But yeah that def changed the trajectory of the season. Idk. Def not hyped when major things shift without anyone telling you. Especially night shift people. You'd think they'd ask or at least tell you. Weird to just find out at home. But is what it is. Hopefully at least the power stays on for a while?

Yeah, actually skiing in powder fucking sucked with my knee. Made me way more nervous of obstacles and was painful to turn. When I say boot deep I mean it was probably 3-4" mostly on top of rock-filled snow with 7-9" in a few tiny stashes. And it was windy af up there where the lower mountain was a perfect bluebird day that still had plenty of untracked snow in the trees

Fall/Early winter is gonna be hard now. HAs been hard but damn. 2 friends killed themselves in the last month and a half. One of my best friends a true fucking ride or die got fucking brain cancer 2 years ago, and died last year after christmas. The year before my roommate in tahoe die from some complications related to covid. Died at the hospital doors but basically died in the house and we carried him to the car and rushed him to incline to the er.

Idk. It's shit compounding on shit that I don't know how to process. I played some cords and sang some stuff that made me cry, and kept playing it. Not really a song, but just something idk. It helped me process things. I still feel I shell off and numb up, or look for things to help numb up, but I felt like I made a breakthrough in processing all the shit.

Idk. I don't know how to not be fine, I don't know how to ask for help. I just do the things I do, keep trucking and touch it out. I don't even know how to feel sometimes even though I know I'm messed up from something.

I still can't believe some of these people are gone. Life is a wild fucking ride. Tell those people you love them.

My friend Danielle that died from brain cancer started taking a lot of selfies with people. I thought it was a little overkill at first. Then our mutual friends would die and there would be these pictures and I understood.

Idk I never though I'd be thinking about that with her this soon. It fucking hurts. There's something special about people you've traded couched with, partied in hotels and air bnbs, raged shows, hitched across country, camped etc with. There's the knowledge that it's something that can't be replaced. Idk, She was fucking awesome. Forever one of my favorite people.

Our healthcare system sucks. I just had an episode of some type of arrhythmia at work. HR was 140. So possibly a fib or SVT, not likely anything more serious but still scary as shit. ER didn’t catch it because by the time I got down there it resolves. It’s going to take 4 months to get into a cardiologist and if something happens between now and then I have to go back to the ER and hope I get there in time for them to catch it? Shit is stupid.

I have to practice within the OEC scope, still recognize things as an EMT, But also have to answer to a hospitals medical direction. It's all so fucking confusing sometimes and then people ask us why this was done this way or that, not that it was incorrect, because we're going off of like 3 different fucking criteria and have to adhere to all of them.

People are pretty aware of what calling 911 and having an ambulance show up will cost. EVEN TO PEOPLE WITH "GOOD HEALTH INSURANCE"it's so fucking stupid. We jerk each other off and slowly move up the ladded of having marginally better insurance that still is generally meh. But having worse health care in this system is better than having better health care that felt less American or whatever.

My parents vote against anything that could fix health care at the sound. My parents also bitch that their prescriptions went up. People are cooked. I get it, people are mad, but generally mad at the wrong people. It's all too easy to buy the freedom, yea america is sick vote.

Ambulance ride with the lights off, trauma visit and 3 day hospital stay cost around 25 grand, thank god my parents have good income and health insurance which covered most of the cost. If this was someone else who even made the average income it would financially cripple them, I’m just blessed that it wasn’t a huge deal for us. But yeah if most people can’t afford to visit the hospital even if it means saving their life our system is probably broken

When my roommate died 2 years ago we had a quick chat in the moment about 911. He didn't have health insurance and couldn't afford it. We ended up getting him to the ER way faster than the ambulance would have event gotten to us but still. It fucking sucks that you have to even thing about that shit. I know I seem aggressive on it, but whatever I am I guess. People can believe what they want, vote what they want whatever. It's pretty fucked up imo when it comes down to these kinds of issues. The fact that heath care reform is a wedge issue blows my fucking mind. Even people that vote for our shit health care complain about it, but it's the American way and there's always some boogie man Mexican ready to get their health insurance if they don't defend it. It's fucking cooked.

Yeah, idk how old you are but things change a bunch even coming off of good insurance when you hit 26, even 26 is kind of cool honestly. I spent 2 weeks in the hospital myself this fall, luckily was abroad in a foreign country where I could get health care and not be completely fucked. There's a reason people are going to mexico and thailand for dental work. Have had a few friends get surgeries in mexico. All the racist fucks talking about how the quality won't be there. The quality is there, sometimes even better, generally way less wait, and always a fuck ton less expensive. People are so engrained in this weird bullshit where we can't fix our health care because it's the best, and I want to fucking slap them.

Also for most people, go on vacation and see what happens when you need a dcotor. Oh sorry, that's out of network, can't go there.

Idk man, people are fucking up hard on this one. I get that you have to go one side or the other and fall in completely but still. I honestly don't even "I told you so'd" when people get fucked after voting for garbage healthcare. It's too sad.

My buddy has good health insurance, like really good. Other friend his wife is a practitioner and has worse health insurance(of course healthcare people getting boned) Any way, he's still getting dicked around for 180 in covid tests for them that were supposed to be covered. Idk. So much of that shit. People have some weird status thing. I have health insurance because I worked harder or whatever. Meh, he has better health insurance and job than those kooks and he's still getting boned.

The American dream seems to be that if you aren't achieving it, to find somebody below you to target to make yourself feel better. That's a sick way to live.

I really don't know what drives people. Is it just party loyalty and ignorance? Or are they kinda a little racist at best. So yeah. I think a lot of healthcare issues actually are driven by racism/xenophobia.

Straight up fall is always hard for me. Getting back on graveyard shift. Sometimes work the most hours of the season these months. Then all the other stuff. Fucking not sure what to think. Trying to be okay with the new roommate situation but I really need my fucking space. I feel like I'm a few inches from everything unraveling sometimes. At least having my own space to think or play it through on guitar helps. Def going to impact things.

Facebook is cool with the memories and shit. Facebook also fucking sucks because the people you're close to that pass blow up your memories. It's hard man. Idk. Danielle was the person I was always looking for on lot, and if I found her, probably hanging with. She made sick ass patches , hoodies etc to get to shows. It was awesome to watch her shop grow. We had a fucking tight connection to back in the day when we were both new to the scene. It's crazy to think that she's gone. I know she is but still. Idk, hard shit to accept.

Somehow the modern left loves unchecked unlimited defense spending nearly as much as covid mandates its weird.

I don't even think anyone in the military deserves respect tbh. US military is just the worlds largest welfare program and there hasn't been a justified war in almost 80 years anyone who served for a good cause is almost 100. All that spending and they lose to Vietnam and Afghanistan totally pathetic.

I used to look up to my coworkers for their work ethic and professionalism that I hadnt seen in a kitchen before. Everybody was always going above and beyond and helped each other out. It was inspiring and made me a better worker. Really felt like I was working in a fancy restaurant. But lately it's really felt like I am staying late, finishing the job for everybody else and very few people help each other that much anymore. Instead of trying to reach the level of my peers, I find myself trying really hard to do my best and not stoop to their level. It's hard af. Almost a third of the team has either quit or is about to. I should've quit a long time ago but now I feel like they really need me more than ever and I need the money through the holidays, but I have to quit for my sanity. Just need to figure out when and how many of my complaints I am going to tell them when I do. I feel like such a people pleasing pussball and also my communication skills are dog shit lately. I wish I knew why or how to get better
