Yeah I know there were some rant threads over the years grinds my gears and whatever. I don't think any of them were that happening to dig up. I probably made one of them honestly. Whatever.

I figured if we could rant somewhere we'd be more docile creatures in the rest of the forums.

theLiquori hate electric vehicle snobs. I spend over an hour/week charging our EV so i gravitate to reddit EV sub while i charge. Not that i wouldnt be sittin on my phone if at home anyways but just sucks having to block off an hour/week to charge. These people…

-”having an EV, boy i sure dont miss those 10-15 minute Costco gas lines” motherfucker as i sit here charging for 40 minutes! If you waiting in line that long for gas you’re stupid! Time is money, that’s a you problem if you decide your time is worth saving 5 cents/gallon. If your town is big enough to have a Costco in town, surely you’ll have other formidable options…

-“if i’m ever unfortunate enough to have to drive a gas vehicle” average EV cost is like $50-60k, if you drive one you aint broke and there’s some very great gas car options at that price level. Anyone with any reasonable complaints instantly written off as big oil shill. But yea, i guess having the range to be able to drive to mountains and back regardless of speed, tires, temperature, use of heat…. Is overrated. Not an issue in EV world no sir

People who drive EV's can't grasp the fact that some people (which is a lot of this country) just can't simply afford that option at the moment so unless its within an affordable price range, no. I think at this point there is a bit of a social identity around EV of people apparently not being satisfied with the merits of the car itself they also need exterior gratification for “being the change” and obviously those people are going to find a way to gravitate towards one another on the internet.

Here’s my take: As soon as an electric truck is cheaper and better this whole smug left wing nonsense will be over because all of industry will switch on a dime. Politics is what people bitch about when they have their bills paid no one likes buying 100 gallons of diesel every day to run their shit.

I don't even know why I bother working out in the off season. Every fucking year I catch some stupid injury in the fall that has me sidelined for the month or two leading up to ski season and I enter the season entirely unconditioned. It makes me feel like I wasted all that time in the summer

Being allergic to avocados has been kind of shitty. Especially after the explosion of them rhe last decade in America. Also being a big fan of Mexican food. Looks like even the Avocado cooking oils have an impact. Not too bad but throat is tight and dry. Sucking down some cough drops. Feels good.

At least not super allergic. Never eaten a shit to of Avocado but it sucks being allergic when they're everywhere now. The avocado cooking stuff is everywhere. I was hoping the heat of cooking maybe would make the oils ok but i guess not.

Way better than peanut or corn allergies. Idk. Is what it is. Def not a great decade comparatively to be allergic to avos though. Hoping they don't end up putting it in everything to be able to advertise how healthy and fresh everything is.

My parents were so rad growing up by letting us do fun stuff...But it was also supervised and within its own limits. "Free range" parents nowadays just let their kids go wherever and do whatever and rely on others to wrangle them in. I like helping kids out but I don't like seeing little 4 year olds run around the place by themselves and climbing onto shit they shouldn't be.

Birkenstock has the worst online ordering process ever. Still haven’t gotten an emailed confirmation of the order, got charged for it, have no tracking number, no order number just said estimated arrival the 13th a week ago. not a huge issue just annoying when ur paying like 150$ for shoes and they can’t even get there fast or tell u where they are.

It's so you can learn how to reason, debate, look at evidence objectively, learn to separate your feelings from a particular issue. These skills can serve you well later in life in both the work world and personal life, not just for lawyers.

I graduated high school the year Trump took office. About 40% of the school was Hispanic. My english teacher thought we should do a similar thing about immigration. It was a train wreck.

Real talk it's an important skill to be able to formulate an argument for something you don't believe in. It's almost impossible to be effective in an argument when you don't understand completely the other side.

Teacher is doing a good thing for you, as everyone else has said. You will learn a lot more formulating an argument you don't believe in than one that you do. Any time we had to do this we usually got to pick the topic, but had to take the side that you were against.
Don't get your parents involved and do the assignment.
Side note: I often find myself playing devils advocate around friends because a lot of people are so one sided it's absurd and they lack any understanding of opposing viewpoints.

Yes I realize that because I did one last year but this year's teacher literally crazy she straight up targeting you off the stupid all about me presentation.
But she's a very controversial teacher as she is new and has made some racist and sexist comments that went a little too far

Imma prolly just do the damn presentation so I don't look dumb as well changing it but theres other people who are def gonna change

I get thay being shitty especially on politics but can be cool. We had a debate class in HS. We had some sort of a prize at the end. I chose to debate why we should keep the drinking age 21 and not make it 18 which i wasn't for. Was fun to really dive into the arguments.

You kind of build a good argument for the other side and then pick it the fuck apart. And at that point you already know what they're going to bring up to rebuttal and you throw it down.

Idk. I was bored and liked arguing with people though. Would be a lot cooler if they just let you pick a topic or at least what side of te topic you wanted to argue.

I don't even get hurt doing stuff anymore. I get hurt in extremely dumb ways, I think I'm officially old now. Like this time, I hit my knee on a desk 4 weeks ago and it still hurts quite a bit after any sort of use. Doc told me I probably have both a bone bruise and bruised cartilage behind the kneecap, and that the bruised cartilage can hurt for up to 12 weeks. If I lose the beginning of my ski season to a fucking desk I'm going to be so bummed

I hate when accidents happen. Everytime someone I care about gets hurt I find myself having a crisis about my own risk exposure and how my tolerance is probably too high.

Can relate. Its a tough pill to swallow sometimes. It took me a long while to get over my best friends accident on his dirt bike. It was really hard seeing him intubated in the ICU, but his recovery and rehab has been incredible to see, and he's back to doing the same shit we used to do together, so there's that. Stay positive and try to help when you can. It's hard to do.

But yes, in terms of risk assessment, it does make you take a step back and think about what you do. But it also puts you into a different perspective of how to manage it and how to make it home safe, if that makes sense.

First time was when my dad broke his leg skiing and I spent three days or so wanting to give it all up. Physically that one aged him about 10 years it seams and he still walks different and can't ski at nearly the level he did. This time it's just a close friend who fell off a platform and hit her head real good. Not being able to wake back up from a nap is no good after a concussion so I was freaking out a bit. Guess no bleeding or anything and just a more serious concussion than originally thought.

Funny how people can drown on a local river system or die in car crashes and it doesn't faze me at all but when someone I care about gets hurt I question everything.

That makes a sense though. We all know bad shit csn happen, but it's easier to keep a distance from ot when it's people you don't know. When it's yourself or friends it has a bigger impact.

It's good to have some fear but also sucks. Once you realize/thing about what happens when things go sideways it's kind of hard to come back.

Fucking landlords/property managers/etc....

My parents are renting a house back in Michigan but discovered a dead rodent in their kitchen vents....So bad and decomposed that maggots were falling out of the fucking vent and onto their stove. Landlord said she couldn't help because she was busy with some bullshit so now my parents had to pay out of pocket for an exterminator.

Then my own property managers want me to literally climb up on a ladder and try to chop down tree limbs and branches that are caught up in the powerlines instead of getting Rocky Mtn Power out here so they don't have to pay for it. Fucking cheapos...and they want us to winterize and blow-out the sprinklers with tools we don't have.

Do people not think things through anymore?

Wheel bearing is dicking out. Gonna get it worked on on thursday.

Ive been in CA now need to get bsck to WA for work. Fuck. Feels like ya can't catch a break sometimes ya know.

Cars can be fucked, injuries happen, but just haven't had a great month and a half.

Gonna get a used knuckle from a pick and pull. Hopefully thats all she needs and have an otherwise uneventful drive back to WA and start work.

All this shit has not helped anxiety/my mental state in general. I just want to get back to work, make some $$ to pay for what I owe on the leg, pay for car shit too. Also having somrthing to do getting things ready for winter.
