Yeah I know there were some rant threads over the years grinds my gears and whatever. I don't think any of them were that happening to dig up. I probably made one of them honestly. Whatever.

I figured if we could rant somewhere we'd be more docile creatures in the rest of the forums.

Got to Hanoi this morning on the night bus. Went to hospital today. Luckily was skeptical that things were fine even though doctore in ha giang yesterday assured me it was fine and jist needed to pull stiched in a week, swelling would go down in a few days.

Waiting on Xray results currently.

Infection may take a while to treat so i may be stuck here for longer. If so it is what it is. Obviously boring being sober and unable to walk but coming out of this healthy is the top priority.

Def not ideal to get hurt in rural af parts of foreign countries.

Hoping no breaks and just treat infection and get back as soon as I can.

I mean this is obviously no longer a priority with the situation but bummed to be missing 2 of my best friends wedding in Tahoe possibly. Been friends for years and hung out a ton when we all moved to tahoe. When i couldn't find a place to rent i kicked it there a couple weeks. I've couch surfed there. They've stayed at my place. It is what it is though. She's a nurse. They won't be stoked but if I get stuck here I get stuck here.


Just hoping leg heals up fully.

Traded one loud roommate for another loud roommate. I hate hospitals in general but damn. Also the food in Vitenam is good. The food in this hospital isn't. Trying to scarf down enough calories.

Also had stuff at hostel and laundry out. Luckily was able to get somebody to bring it over. Weirdly a guy that's been chatting to me on grindr. We didnt hook up or anything or make any efforts that way. But we had talked occasionally on whatsapp and he asked he could help with anything. Turns out ge worked near where i was staying and was able to scoop my stuff and brough me some chips and kitkat bars. Pretty hyped.

Leg is showing some small signed of improvement hopefully going to keep getting better.

I talked to my friend that's getting married he's bummed but gets it. She's kinda mad. I know she gets it too but obviously wants me there. Idk i def didn't intent to be here in a hospital.

Hopefully canget out eventually and book a new flighthome. Would be sick to make the wedding but id have to fly out in3 days and idk if I'll be out of the hospital by then.

For sure. Getting my stuff back and some snacks goes a long way.

Not stoked to stay here but hoping however long it takes I come out healthy. That's all that matters.

Got an update at least. It's looking a little better. Swelling is going down. Still a lot of fuid in the wound which sucks but it's getting better. Going to probably need to stay in the hospital another week. Not stoked. But at least it's still good news that it's healing.

The stress of everything from when it happened was a lot. Getting bad opinions of it didn't help. Then going for xrays and ended up just at a hospital where there's a legit language barrier. But feeling a little better that things are looking up even though slow.

They looked pretty serious when they were checking it out. Infections are no joke so I was def worried.


If anyone has any good podcast recommendations let me know. Trying to drown out the neighbors with people talking about stupid shit.

Being stuck next to obnoxious kid is well, obnoxious. Todays already fun task of getting stuff drained out of a pretty tender spot on the wound was made triple fun by having a kid yelling 6 feet away. Not crying or anything just being obnoxious. Her dads here and was indulging it.
Obviously a bit more sensitive being stuck here but still pretty easy going. I will buy a tranq dart gun if I need to. Some peace and quiet would be awesome.

Bruh every week we come close to someone quitting and the MSU dining halls collapsing. We are so short staffed and management can’t recruit people for shit. So we started having only one dining hall open each half of the day, but now we cook for literally double the amount of people and staff are getting burnt out faster than before.

management is dumb stressed about it but can’t seem for the life of them to fix anything, a tale as old as time ffs. We run out of food constantly, we can’t even fully open a single dining hall, we can’t clean dishes fast enough for the amount of kids that need to eat and we can’t even cook any variety because there’s no one here. The few new student workers we did recruit already hate it here because management makes them wash dishes 24/7 or work days they didn’t even sign up for. And now people have been skipping shifts or leaving early and management just cracks down even harder, a kid showed up a minute or two late and all 3 managers bitched him out, guess who didn’t show up for their tonight?


like bruh I stg who keeps making people like this managers, these mf have the leadership skills of a sea cucumber and just make more problems than they fix.

I found the thermostat. It was at 26.5 which i think is 80. I thought i had a fever from the infection. No its just hot af. Got that sorted i think. Hopefully will heal faster if im not dying of heat stroke.

Should get better sleep. Also girl and her dad left. Hoping i can go tonight without a roommate.

It is what it is. At least I'm cooling the place down. Nothing like spending 3 days hot and sweating to find out it was just the room I was in. Not sure why anyone would let a room be at that temp unless somebody is old af. Nobody sleeps better at 80 degrees lol.

When I was home visiting my parents a couple weekends ago I was waay too hot in the house. They had it set at 78 I like it warm but not that warm! I only slept well one night and that was the coolest night of the time I spent there.
Its definitely an older person thing. I remember as a kid when Grandma would visit on Sundays. She'd be wearing a coat in the middle of the summer and her nose would be dripping.

I had that a lot when I had Spotify download to the micro SD card in the phone. When I got my new phone and saved it all to the internal storage the problem went away.

Been here 5 days now. Fuck. I guess it's good that I should be half way or better. But damn. That's a long time hanging out in a foreign hospital.

I don't think hospital food is generally awesome anywhere but def not vibing. Trying to eat enough food though. Sucks too with the language barrier. The lady is weird about it if i dont eat something or don't finish something. Like fuck off. It's kinds depressing being in here so my appetite is weird. Food isn't great. Also this just showing up at random times and sometimes you aren't hungry then.

Watiting to here back from doctor but hoping to be out in like 3 days.


Doing alright but def hard not being able to move around much and not being able to go anywhere.


Pretty ready to put this all in the past and get back to work at the mtn. Get all the rail refab done, do some mowing, and get ready for winter.

Hopefully leg heals well and doesn't have further issues. Def looking forward to getting out.

Yeah thanks. It's wild when you can't talk to anyone or communicate really.

Also funny I mentioned the food thing. They were just being weird about it. Like idk maybe people don't feel awesome being in a hospital for 5 days alone in a foreign country. Probably just gonna try and order in some food.

Idk I just don't need more stuff to stress.

I guess at least the trip was awesome till I decided to live in a Hospital.

Thanks man! Yeah I've been handling it pretty well I think. I mean even the initial first day of going to the hospital for maybe an hour or 2 and then finding out I'm not leaving.

But still def taking a toll. I'm looking forward to getting back yo the mtn and building some new rails. Hopefully back in a snowcat mid november.

Yeah thanks man. I dont think ive stayed more than a day in one at any point in my life. Have had a few surgeries and broken some fucked things but been pretty lucky I guess to not have a long term stay. The foreign element doesn't help.

Wasn't chill but it was fine enough till today with the food hassles. Idk why people don't understand that when you're stressed having everybody grill you about something might make you more stressed.

I didn't end up ordering food but prolly will tomorrow. I still got a bsg of chips and s kit cat from random dude i might chow tonight. (I ate a decent amount of rice too)


Stoked though now it's post dinner. So will probably just get one more set of ivs another shot, some pills and thats it.
