TOAST.I thought quiet quitting was when you stop going above and beyond and just do what is in your job description, but still get work done.

When it comes to experience months can count as much as years if check the boxes they want. Don't feel like you owe any company multiple years of your life. I mean give everyone 6-12 months but if its time to look its time to look.

theabortionatorOur housing situation is kind of a shit show at Crystal this season. We dozed our employee housing(had to doze it or fix it next year ) but dozed it a year early with no plan. Just "sure this might work maybe"s.

Anyway our former president now regional manager of altera swung by the lot everyone is living at on the mtn. Stopped to chat. There were 4 of us, I mostly let him chat to them and one bring up a bunch of points.

That said I mentioned I have a job offer to go to Norway and build parks with a cool dude over there and am trying to justify coming back to crystal but it's hard. Now a good friend signed on to be our park sup so I'm more committed because I'm invested in this park program but still. I need a place to live.

I had at least one 160 hour 2 week last season in Jan. I was working all over and helping out with trail stuff and winching when ever I had "time".

I like what I do so I'm not bitching about that but if I donthave a place to live you can fuck off.

Nearest "town" is greenwater it's not big. They're mostly homeowners but have a lot of renters and now are blowing up with airbnbs. Next town starts at 50 min from the mtn. They wouldn't be able to staff this place off that.

So pretty much like most people are doing they fucked their housing a year early with no plans, no permits, just boardroom ideas.

They're trying to do significant expansion of the mtn as well which is what it is, but thwy wont be even able to staff the current needs if they don't change things.

Idk there was a pitch about adding some housing back up here. I feel that might be bullshit but even if it comes through is maybe 4 years out or so.

Idk people know housing is the number 1 crisis of mtn towns. Why the fuck don't they act like it?

For sure. I just love how casual and half assed the plans were. Like when you decide to go somewhere randomly snd then fond out it's closed and you're like "oh word. Guess ill go somewhere else".

The one place they were going to put a bunch of trailer spots and units turns out to be a significant amount of wetlands they cant build on. If they surveyed it properly and trued to get permits and stuff a long time ago they would have known that.

They're renting a summer camp between the mtn and that town and housing people there. Wasn't really made for year round and a lot of the infrastructure is fucked.

The water has been fucked, theyre on a boil water. Theyve had seqage issues. They've had the heaters go and had to replace those. There isn't cell service and barely usable wifi which may be worse with all the people.

Also place decided they aren't going to sell. So were putting all our eggs in this basket that someday they sell which it sounds like they wont.

Getting some new housing at the mtn above the water treatment would be sweet but it sounds just like "idk maybe we'll do something over there" kinda thing where noone has looked into anything and there's not even a basic plan.

We had to upgrade or get rid of our employee housing next year because of septic. Would have been spendy to run lines and pump it to the water treatment. Also a few buildings were pretty run down.

But even if we weren't going to do that we could have left them till next year. Im that time making some real plans, getting real permits, and starting to work on these spots.

Housing is such an issue everywhere. It was before airbnb as an investment property blew up in every town. Now it's just fucked.

I don't understand how places can half ass this issue so much. Idk
