I remember being driven to school, picked up from school, taken to sports games and driven to the mall and dad would walk around while I fed the arcade machine quarters for hours, he’s drive my friends and I to the amusement park, he would sit and read a book for 10 hours and take us all home, he was the dad that drove us all to the skate park, ski resort whatever, he would always stop what he was doing to play gi joe for hours or games, practice spelling or vocabulary, sit on the porch to look at stars, you name it and dad had(made) time. Def a better breed of man than I, hell he even sang and read to me as a baby.
I do my best with my 3, it really is hard being a “real” dad, and the fun dad that the neighbor hood kids like, omg it’s a job, but it’s worth it and nothing is as important as our children, I enjoy doing the things my dad did and then some, and I make an effort to do the things kids want even if I’m not in the mood, some of it is really easy for me, I love sports etc my dad was a spectator so he would watch, I get involved which is cool and fun, tough to keep track of a group o chillin on the mountains so big ups to you ski school teachers and the like
DeebieSkeebiesI know it's a hard difficult period we live in but some of our parents still worked over 80 hours/week between graveyards and working all day/swapping out turns to pick us up from school/take us to the ski hill/etc. And still did their best to hang out with us. It's baffling dude.
