louie.miragsfor sure I feels ya man! Shit sucks. Always annoys me when I hear stories like that or when for example, a paver earns unemployment because there is no paving work in the winter. Well, get another job? But, your buddy loses in the end because he is developing shitty habits and will never succeed at life...
And I quoted you about the Spanish because our country does not have an official language. The most comical thing is when I see people (not that you are one) who make fun of non-english speaking people in America. Meanwhile, their parents or grandparents came from another country! All four my grandparents were off the boat in the 50s. 2 of which barely learned english and the other 2 new it because they learned it back home. Yet, my father has made the typical comments about mexicans learning spanish. And HIS own father didn't speak English! So, no need to hate on spanish speakers.
That may be but it's generally something you do when moving to another country. If it's a vacation it's whatever, but if you fucking move to another country you learn the language there. English is a pretty fucking official language here. Schools books tv, signs, everything. Sure more thing are popping up with spanish in addition but don't act like there are 10 languages all equal in Ammrica and we haven't been leaning toward any in particular because that's bullshit.
I don't even have a problem with people with immigrants. My great great grandfather came over on a boat from germany hen he was 14. There's just something to learning about the places you're moving to.
And believe me, you might have been able to come from all over the world, there might have been large groups of people from certain regions living together but there def were problems for people from other countries who didn't want to learn english back then.
The world is a melting pot but if you're going to move somewhere, make some fucking attempt to learn the language. Learning english for someone who speaks spanish isn't that tough.
It's just kind of shitty. This is not some racist sentiment toward mexicans, I feel that way about going place around the world. If I ever move to a new place your damn right I'm going to learn the language.
Now as far as the mexican immigrants, it's fucking shitty that we don't do something to stop them. I guess we do but it's far too fucking easy for them to get in, and as noted, they don't give 2 fucks about our immigration system. It's so tough for people to even get a temporary work visa for America, where they have to have proof of thousands of dollars for sufficient funds before even being able to step foot in the states for a temp visa, yet some people want to turn a blind eye to the illegal immigration situation? It's bullshit to me. Sure, everyone wants to move somewhere, but you can't just do it like that.
I'd love to permanently live in NZ but you can't just do it like that. Some people who have had a couple work visas to a place, end up in a relationship and stay a while illegally, that's a bit different to me. That vs never filing any paper work, not even coming over a boarder normally, and just coming in all sketchy.
We just send em right back even if we catch them so they can try it again the next weekend. The world is getting tighter on immigration. People are struggling to get work visas. And that shit sucks because it would be lovely to be able to properly travel the world, and live in all these different countries.
Idk. I just don't have any sympathy for people who make no effort to learn the language/culture when they move to a country. It's a melting pot, it always has been, you don't have to give up everything to go to a new country, but jesus make SOME fucking effort.
