Yeah I know there were some rant threads over the years grinds my gears and whatever. I don't think any of them were that happening to dig up. I probably made one of them honestly. Whatever.

I figured if we could rant somewhere we'd be more docile creatures in the rest of the forums.

Went completely blind in my left eye for a few min today. That was not super chill. Still kinda sketched out. I had light sensitivity but no color or texture/depth. Just gray white blank. Fuck that

Yeah I'm gonna go to an urgent care or something tomorrow probably and see what they think.

I just found out I have health insurance in CA still so might take a trip if they're gonna need to run tests.

Not sure if it's an eye thing or a brain thing.

Skipping open mic night tonight which sucks. Some of the people from the mountain wanted to come out. But my brain has been feeling a little weird and even at home barely playing the guitar which is rare. I've played like a song and a half and I'm not working today. Probably the least I've played ever with a guitar this close to me.

Idk, something feels off though. A little sketched out. Hopefully I'm alright.

But yeah def gonna get it checked out.

Clearly have my priorities set straight. Also postponed my second year of training til September so I could ski this month. Fuck it whatever, I’m young and my knees can handle it. Didn’t get to ski when I was younger so I’m making up for lost time. It’s hard trying to do everything at once though

I'm not gonna deny that it's probably a super nice car and if I owned one I'd probably drive it all the way to 200k if I could, but referring to it as a 958 instead of a Cayenne just makes it seem like you are ashamed of the fact that people know the Cayenne as a fancy VW Toureg.

The reason I don't ever want to own a fancy car (other than the fact that I am too poor and irresponsible to own one) is that people are fucking stupid and can leave you with a $20k repair bill just from a tiny little moment of inattentiveness.

It sucks how some can’t appreciate what means a lot to others, whether it’s old or not, someone worked hard for that, dreamed about it , loves it obviously etc… and imo it’s nice as fuck. Even my compass, my family traveled cross country in that, 25k miles worth, it Had memories, no where near my fav vehicle. But it was more than a compass and I really liked it, it checked a lot of boxes, got me places quicker cause I didn’t have to stop for gas which is nice when your traveling through those wyoming canyons with no gas for 150miles, had all the options I thought it was pretty nice
It’s really tough when an enthusiast has their baby damaged, whether that’s a Porsche or a new Chevy that got moosed or my compass, it sucks

Agreed - this is why we can’t have nice things lol

also to what @savagebiff said, that’s a good point. you never know how hard someone had to work to save up for something. Also doesn’t even matter if it’s a nice car or not ??? I’d still be pissed if someone backed into to me

I've been on the both ends. Fucked up and dented someone. Someone else fucked up and dented me.
Disappointed in myself the first and got it settled without yelling.
No real damage when I got tapped, the young lady was distraught and most likely on her phone ( she alluded) and no need for hysteria.

Small accidents don't need to turn ugly and ugly accidents aren't small.

I can see why you’d think that, but I’m in a bunch of FB groups about them and it’s just kind of a habit because there’s now like 3 different generations and people always say well WHICH MODEL IS IT. Sorry it’s a habit. I’m not really that guy about the sports car, we bought it when my wife was pregnant to have a car that was nice and fit a car seat. Yeah it’s a fancy Touareg but I like Touaregs, and they don’t make a VW with a 500 hp V8 in it as far as I know.

I feel like there are a lot of first gen Cayenne owners who are much more insecure about it being "just a fancy Toureg" because of how visually similar it is. Can't get around the fact that the Cayenne is simply the easiest target for razzing of the modern Porsches imo

Which is funny because it’s the only car they make that is even remotely off-road capable. If you put decent tires on it, they have a center locking differential, short wheel base I’d put it up against my truck for offroad performance if it was set up right.

When Porsche released the Cayenne, the fast SUV market didn't really exist. They weren't sure how it would be received by the market, so they gave it some serious offroad chops to compete with other luxury 4x4s like the G-Wagon. Porsche even developed a factory package called the Cayenne Transsyberia that looks pretty awesome. Unfortunately, the 08 financial crisis meant the Transsyberia was never released.

Now that my wife is done breastfeeding/pumping on her way to work she no longer needs the truck so much so she’s driving my nice cars again. Except i keep telling her to stop parking in the doctors lot and walk 50’ further but she cant be bothered and me being the ones who cleans the cars, i see all the dings. Its infuriating, so many doctors give zero fucks im sure to them its just “woops, oh well your fault shouldnt buy nice cars anyways they’re a bad investment”. Last weekend i had the truck parked almost 4’ away from my car in the driveway and my wife STILL managed to throw open the truck door on my car because she was “discombobulated” about work. I get it, but all the cars in the doctor lot are only 2’ apart so very easy for stressed out doctors to throw open their door on your car.

wife bought a high-maintenance wooden patio furniture set that we constantly have to keep covered (recovered everytime theres the weekly windstorm), oiled… i spend so much time keeping her patio set taken care of but she cant be bothered to walk 50’ further at work to protect my cars. Upsetting.

Had a solicitor come to my house two days in a row. Second time I was home, literally pointed at the giant sign at eye level that says "no soliciting" and dude just stands there and proceeds to talk. Me- "I don't want to buy anything"... He still keeps talking like Imma change my mind. Bruh the days of a salesman are over.

I get so many of these fucks it's not even funny. Good God. Not to mention crime is rampant so 0% chance I'm gonna let you in my fucking house.

'03 Forester with manual 5 speed and LSD rear. 210,000 + and still going strong with maintenance only. ( I do most of that myself)
1989 Accord Lxi. 347,000 miles, and I will race it this season. OG engine and transmission.

2005 Accord Coupe automatic. 198,000. Still strong!

Parts for the above cars are no big price tag.

I changed oil on all three today. Buy the highest quality oil filter, and oil. Take care of them, and they last.

I’m good dawg. I’m working like 3hr sessions 3-4 times a week. Can’t be more of a liability then giving a 15 year old, 7 4-5 year olds and letting me just take them skiing all day.

Once the kids I ski coach are 7 and can go join their race or freestyle programs I’m good. Idk if I could deal with them not listening and not being sweet and funny anymore.
