WoFlowzSome places pay 16-18 to dishwash they just aren’t hiring rn. I think it’s part naive part privilege. I don’t rly wanna accept that imma be making less money and doing more work with shit hours. I’d love to be a waiter but u gotta be 18. I’m good at talking to people. Maybe a host? Hard to find those tho
I mean, if that's something you want to do, wait staff, bartending, cooking. Working as a dishwasher and learning is always good. Obviously laws exist for bartending so even touching the booze is illegal enough most places if you're under 21.
Idk I get it but you are the age you are at the moment, kinda gotta take what you can find. Some places might higher younger people but I feel 16-18 might be pretty common for wait staff as a minimum. Idk.
Are the people getting 16-18 getting paid cash? that's pretty damn good. If not or in general 12 cash is not bad. There's people paying rent in ski towns making that.
Se if you can get cash though. Also if you get a shift meal every night. Obviously too young for shift drinks. Idk I will never work in a restaurant again probably but it's also not a bad job.
I did it and got into cooking and hated it and went other directions. If I did more bartending I might have staid with it longer. But like I said had plenty of those opportunities to learn being around. Just wasn't my jam.
If you have a construction company in town that'll hire you that could be cool. You'll probably do a lot of bullshit work, but you'll get in good shape and learn some things. Again you don't have to do that for all your life but great skills to have.
Really any skill you can pick up. And then the rate you start at goes up. and applying for another job you have skills. If you do a good job you have good references. You gotta build that up and it takes time.
Also having a job you hate and bailing on is whatever, but be careful to burn bridges. Especially in small industries or around your home town. A good reference can go along way, and people talk to each other.
Idk, just find something, even if it's not your favorite job. The summer I did dishwashing I just needed a job. Wasn't dying to wash dishes. It wasn't that bad, I learned some things. Mow lawns, wash dishes, shadow/apprentice ish towards learning a skill.
Good luck
