Yeah I know there were some rant threads over the years grinds my gears and whatever. I don't think any of them were that happening to dig up. I probably made one of them honestly. Whatever.

I figured if we could rant somewhere we'd be more docile creatures in the rest of the forums.

About a year ago a local restaurant put up a 'going out of business' sign. Local paper went to ask about it and it turned out the owner put it up to try to drive more people in and wasn't actually going out. Paper published what was going on and the place shorty did go out of business.

I love ranting to you guys because most of you aren't in healthcare so I feel like I won't offend any of you lol

So I have a coworker who is SOOOO fucking annoying about "drug seekers." And my opinion on nurses who call other patients drug seekers is for a different rant but anyways, this girl is brand new. She's been a nurse for like 10 years, worked on our cardiac floor(these nurses are generally really solid nurses because they have high acuity patients), then went to outpatient/urgent care and is now back on our unit. She's not off orientation yet and is already being investigated for..you guessed it.. DIVERTING NARCOTICS.

Now I'm not going to be too much of a bitch because substance abuse in nursing is a HUGE issue and I can empathize with people who are so desperate for drugs they take them from patients. It is a horrible inexcusable thing to do, but you have to be hurting pretty damn bad to go that far and risk your job/license for it. But what really grinds my gears is how poorly she talked about her patients. It makes it seem like she genuinely has no regard for them. To call them drug seekers and think you need their pain/anxiety meds more than them is FUCKED up. To feel entitled to THEIR medications is fucked up. I realize her talking shit about patients was a form of manipulation to take suspicions off her...and potentially manipulate her coworkers to think the patients are lying but to say those terrible things about patients is fucking straight awful. She is the type of person who is adding to the stigma of pain relief needs vs drug seeking behaviors is completely unacceptable.

She was placed on leave indefinitely. I hope she gets into some kind of program and she genuinely sees how fucked up her actions are and she gets the help she needs so this NEVER happens again and she can develop some compassion and empathy for her patients (that she relates to more than I think she knows lol).

Anyways thanks for going to my rant. See ya'll next time.

got shafted by this earlier this year. 2 weeks to even get my car looked at and then another 3 weeks before it was actually fixed. extra frustrating because i knew exactly how to fix it but i don't have access to a lift anymore

Yeah exactly, I know exactly what to do to but have school and would have to do everything in my driveway with shoddy tools. I also think there's another problem causing my misfire because I just fixed it.

I just want a shop to take a look and tell me what they see, see if we can get to the root of the problem. I am going to keep trying to fix it on my own this week, just a shitty situation

Utahs job market is fucking dogshit. Combined with the COL, we're basically just trying to find something to stop the bleeding so we can go find an EMT job hopefully or patrol or something medical thats NOT fucking drawing blood or taking COVID swabs.

Im gonna ride my lease out another year and bounce out hopefully summer/fall of '23. I can't stand this fucking shithole of a desert anymore.

That guy did it the hard way, but it should work. Take out the needle valve to seat bead. Sometimes if you can bounce it around, that can help when putting in the compressed air.

It was a preop evaluation before surgery so naturally I got to hear someone ask me a bunch of questions straight off a questionnaire that I coulda done in 5 min on my phone. Then I got to listen to her try to explain stuff I know wayyyy more about than her. Funny stuff. Also disrespectful as fuck to be this late.

I did man, and believe me I tried. Ive been trying my hardest in this area since I was 15 trying to figure out whatever sticks and nothing has besides ski coaching and seasonl trade jobs, and that doesn't even put a dent into our current living costs. Trades at least made it worthwhile which is probably my next route, but I just don't see myself meeting a girl here and raising a family. I can see that happening elsewhere but I just can't figure out where. Until then, Im just another angry Utahn thats sad their communities have gone to shit and just have to deal with it until the time comes to make the right move elsewhere

Ugh.

Homie called last weekend and said lets go to a giants game. Sick sounds fun! Figured it would be a day trip/maybe stay in SF Saturday night that would be fun and said yes. Told a homie that I wouldn't be able to climb anymore on Saturday so we were gunna climb Friday after work and sunday instead.

Get a call last night and find out that apparently they are driving down Friday night, and staying Friday/saturday night. And knowing how drunk we would get at the game we arent going to leave SF till afternoon probs. I don't really want to do all of that for a game that I don't really care about, and bail on my climbing partner too. Plus I had told the GF I would help around the house. We need to clean out the garage, weed the backyard, spray for ants, clean the house and get groceries etc. I don't want to be a dick and leave all of that to her.

So now I have to choose who/what to bail on. Either way involves fomo/feeling like a dick. So that's fun. Yay

Yeah dude my parents are on the sling + whatever streaming service they have rn. We never had cable growing up cause of that exact reason- companies were such a pain in the ass to deal with so my parents didn’t bother.

Fuck school and having no idea what I want to do in life. I have to finish an essay tonight that's already hella late but I have less that zero motivation. Maybe if I had some sort of direction I'd have some motivation to do work, but goddamn i have no drive to do shit. Honestly might just withdraw next year and take some time to work and figure out where I want to go from here but I actually have to finish the semester first.
