Yeah I know there were some rant threads over the years grinds my gears and whatever. I don't think any of them were that happening to dig up. I probably made one of them honestly. Whatever.
I figured if we could rant somewhere we'd be more docile creatures in the rest of the forums.
Lil bro and his gf just got approved for an apartment in town. They're moving out this weekend. Neither of them have spoken to me or texted me since Sunday. I really hurt my brother. I stand by my decision but I still feel like shit for fucking him over.
To make things worse, my brother got let go from his job today. Last summer, I got him an internship at the company I work for. He's genuinely been doing a really good job and has been a critical part of his team. Today, the company decided to shutter that part of the business because it hasn't been profitable enough. Two full-time engineers were fired, a few more were relocated to different departments, and my poor brother gets axed because he's just an intern.
Fuck man, the same week that I ask him to move out, he gets fired out of nowhere. I've tried so hard to support him over the years with an affordable room for college and an internship to jumpstart his career. We had a really good relationship. And in one week, all of that implodes. Fucking sucks. The firing isn't my fault, but it makes me feel even guiltier for telling him to move out. I can't imagine what he's going through right now.
y'all will get through it. you shouldn't feel like shit because you didn't fuck him over, he just didn't respect your house and now he's behaving in a way to make you feel guilty about his lack of responsibility. sucks about him getting fired tho that's some terrible ass timing. they petty as fuck to be ghosting you since you told them to move out.

Gas prices aren’t even anymore outrageous then ever. Our economy has seen higher gas prices than we see right now in most states with some exceptions. They may be increasing rapidly again but we haven’t even seen what crazy is yet.

No one said that gas isn’t expensive just that people who complain about it constantly are annoying. Especially the annoying privileged ass kids at my school who’s parent pay for their gas. So we are talking $5-20 more per tank depending how big your car is, and frankly if someone has a giant car and can't afford gas, that's their mistake (insert anyone with an 8 year loan on a $60k truck). And how often do you fill up your tank? Most people maybe once or twice a week so we are talking upwards of 20x4= $80 more per month. If your budget can't flex $80 you are living above your means. Fact. Blame the stores for gouging. Russia isn't even in the top 3 nations that provide oil to the US and we haven't even stopped importing it yet.

I drive 50 miles/day and get 30mpg if it's nice or around 18-20 if it's snowing. Cost of my commute increased like 70% and it's not like I enjoyed filling up in the first place. And even if it is around 100/month or less extra I'm paying, the price of EVERYTHING else will increase along with the added cost of transportation. If you're trying to high-horse this gas price increase you must live a pretty comfy life because this will hit people very hard just like it did in 2008.

I have stable income but I need to keep to a modest budget and when groceries, socual life, and other items are at least 30 minutes away each way an added $1 per gallon is a bit of financial shock that needs to be accounted for. But I get it, you have a cushy medical job, I wouldn't expect you to know what budgeting for daily needs feels like.
