Yeah I know there were some rant threads over the years grinds my gears and whatever. I don't think any of them were that happening to dig up. I probably made one of them honestly. Whatever.
I figured if we could rant somewhere we'd be more docile creatures in the rest of the forums.
WoFlowzFucking hate algebra I can’t do it for shit. Can’t even do basic shit like solving when there’s 2 variables, or use my stupid complicated calculator and now my option is take the regents which I can’t even complete 12 problems on a review sheet for. Or just straight up fail. Fucking hell and this teachers a bitch and doesn’t help when I ask
WoFlowzI messed that up the other day and it won’t graph now and the teacher won’t help
I was gonna respond to your first post, then I read the 2nd and got confirmation, teachers make all the difference, I had some trouble with math in my junior year, I was ace ing everything but that course, my dad flipped out bc the teacher was worthless, literally dude wouldn’t help me, I hated him I used to joke I was gonna put sugar in his coffee(diabetic), they moved me from regular math to an AP class for super smarties bc it was the only class with space, and the teacher taught me personally after class, wrote excuses to other teachers for my absence, I went from like a low 70s to a high 90s in Calc, teachers make so much difference, it’s like she unlocked a door in my brain, or at least broke a window allowing me to see things in a way I couldn’t, maybe consider a teacher change or tutor
My dad hardly uses the turn signal and it bugs the shit out of me. He’s driving my truck right now and I told him to please follow my truck rules and he just said “I know what I’m doing.” I’m not allowed to drive at the moment since he wants to and it just makes me so nervous I want to throw up.

Fuck my shitty roomates they are both 5 years older then me or something like that neither of them ever help out with shit like vacuuming or putting away the dishes when they dry, one constantly is clogging our toilet. Both of them are non confrontational pussys . Apparently I remind one of them of their dad😭

Me when I lent my dad my milwaukee driver yesterday.... this man breaks everything he gets his hands on hahaha
I told him he shouldn't be drilling into metal without some kind of cutting oil or else the drill bit will snap. He ignores me and tells me he knows what he's doing. Ok. Whatever
Then GUESS what happened. The drill bit snapped.
Holding my breath while he uses my drill and puts all his 200+lbs of weight directly onto it
I feel this, I have employees, I go through so many drivers and bits, chainsaw chains you name it ,every year, got a kid that can’t get a screw through a pin to form concrete 🙄, others that can’t hold a drill straight, select wrong size , strip screws jfc

Letting someone else drive your vehicle is always nerve-wracking. Once they start doing it poorly, it's shit your pants time
Omg I’ve never let anyone drive my vehicles aside from my tech, and once when I was 17 and passing out on Xanax a friend forced me in the back took me home and walked himself home, I wasn’t thrilled.
Now I’m teaching my 16yr old daughter to drive, she’s learning in a ram dump truck 5500 which keeps me feeling safe, bigger truck always wins, she’ll learn to drive a stick in my s4 soon 😳 ngl that’s got me nervous.

Lmfaooooo. So In NY if you’re vaccinated you don’t need to wear a mask in stores. I’m vaccinated but still chose to wear a mask because I work in healthcare and want to minimize my risk of potentially transmitting covid to my patients who are old and at risk. Also the less people see of my face, the better lol. Anyways, what I’m getting at is I have no problem wearing a mask.
So I get out of target and sit in my car and go on my phone quick to turn on a song but I got distracted by a convo so I was sitting there for a few minutes when this lady and dude walk past and say “you know you don’t have to wear a mask in your car right?” My windows were up and they def weren’t asking in a way to get an answer from me.
Like why does it matter? I got in my car and forgot it was fucking on. Do antimaskers really care that much what other people do? Is me not taking my mask off the moment I can really fucking bother people? I genuinely do not understand why people need to comment on it? I’m so confused.
safarisamYeah I’ve let four people (other than myself) drive it in 5 years. Makes me way too nervous.
This. People are always shocked when we go on long road trips and I drive the whole way. I just don't trust other people as much as myself, and if something does happen I want it to be on me. Even a fender bender becomes a shit show if someone else is driving
ALSO I’m in Missouri visiting my Uncle and some family friends and I’m getting pretty tired of them asking me if I’ve found a man up north yet. I don’t want to date your law student nephew or whoever down here— and nothing is wrong with me for not being married yet, even if I’m turning 27 this year. Rural communities are this way but still.

If you’re going to be this critical of his tool use, at least learn the difference between a driver and a drill.
New kitchen job is a lot more professional than my last one, which I like. But I feel pretty over my head now and lately I have been making mistake after mistake it's so annoying. I forget one little thing in almost everything I do or a few times I've dropped a bunch of pans I'm carrying. I feel especially bad because everyone else pretty much does their shit perfectly. I'm also like the only person under 6' there.
Wholy shit everyday Mountain biking makes me more and more annoyed. Well the people. A good friend who is by no means rich but well off and super spoiled was taking to me today about his wheel starting to get a bit of a wobble. It’s a 200$ rim and 400$ hub. And I said just take it to ur local shop and get it trued for 40-60$ is about what it is at my sho atleast. He goes oh thats annoying to have to not have my bike for a few days, I’ll just wait till it folds and my dad will buy a new one. Like wtf dude you don’t even like think about spending ur parents money? Or even tryna save them money? And he thinks of it as a way to upgrade? It annoys the shit out of me. And he also said he won’t get a job winter or summer to pay for a trail bike cause it takes away from his riding time. He’ll just get his dad to buy one and convince him he needs more than 2500. Like dude if my parents had given me 2500$ on a bike I’d be so incredibly fucking stoked and greatful. Wholy shit it’s just like, how are people so inconsiderate with money. Or how they spend shit. I see it in skiing and MTB and skating. Ik a kid who purposely breaks decks to buy new ones! Like dude that had tons of life in it someone coulda used that who couldn’t afford a brand new deck.
you will be way way way better off and happier in the long run. kid is gonna end up broker than broke and addicted to crack

just fyi the expression is “holy shit” not “wholy”
I just got back from a super rad backpacking trip in Redwood National Park. Entire trip was a 10/10 apart from one 3.5mi section called 44 Creek Loop. I figured it would be a scenic detour to add a few more miles to the day 1 trek to camp. Both my Nat Geo map and the NPS map we picked up at the ranger station listed 44 Creek Loop as a Hike/Horse trail. No problem, right?
Holy shit, it was a problem. I have zero issue with difficult trails. I have zero issue with cross-country hiking. This "trail" was the worst trail I have ever seen. Zero track to follow. Dense ferns and huckleberry brambles over our heads the entire way. Fallen trees of all shapes and sizes every 30 feet. We tore up our clothes and arms on the foliage trying to climb through this mess. It was borderline impassable on foot. No chance a horse would've gotten through there. Every couple-hundred yards we'd come across an old rotting bridge that signified we were on the right track. If not for those, I would've assumed we were lost.
I'm a big proponent of "know thyself" and no hand-holding. If you don't know what you're doing, you shouldn't be out there. That being said, I'm pretty disappointed in the Redwood National Park Service for this particular trail. Their literature is severely misleading. We made it out okay, but it took us over 5 hours to trek those 3 miles. The 12 miles before that, we averaged 20 minutes/mile. Less-experienced hikers without multiple maps and gps are almost guaranteed to get lost, stuck, or hurt in there. That wasn't a maintained horse trail. It wasn't a maintained hiking trail either. They should update their information or put warnings at the trailheads.
One of the hundreds of fallen trees we had to scramble over. My lil bro was struggling here. We'd been bushwhacking for over 3 hours. Our arms are covered in bloody scratches from the blackberry bushes
Missing planks and a fallen tree being supported by the rotting bridge over a narrow gorge.
The "trail" goes straight on ahead. This gives a good idea of the general condition of the bushwhacking. Worst part of all, this area had been logged 100+ years ago, so there were no more old-growth redwoods in this part of the forest. We'd come across stumps bigger than my car. Before protections were passed 50 years ago, logging companies cut down 95% of the old-growth redwoods. Stupid short-sighted people. Those trees were 2000+ years old.
That’s a shame about the redwoods. No offense but y’all spoiled, I’d be happy to hike trails that well groomed, but I don’t hike trails, wild only I make trails, but the few places I’ve been were not that nice

I'm happy to be spoiled. I'd like to think my tax money and permit prices pay for well-maintained parks. That means good trails to keep people off sensitive areas and it means updated maps for navigation. I've broken trail before in lots of places, but in a coastal forest this dense, it's a major pain in the ass when we weren't prepared for it
Agree for sure, we just don’t have that kinda quality here in the allegheny or appalachias, I’d love to be in an actual park with some sorta marked terrain and maps, there’s not even gps where I go

How naive of you to think your tax money would be used properly, especially in California of all places.
hdubsHow naive of you to think your tax money would be used properly, especially in California of all places.
Lol exactly. In my experience, The National Park Service typically has their shit together. However, the Redwood National and State Parks are co-managed by the California State Park System. We can definitely blame CA for their bumblefuckery here.
Always run into dumb people in the national parks but this dad was trying to get hit family to hike out on something for a photo. The spot was literally worse for a pic amthan the edge they were on.
His family expressed their concern and didn't want to. His wife was worried about falling.
He kept trying to convince them. The son said something about it being dangerous. Dad said driving a car is dangerous but we did that to get here.
I'm not one to avoid everything dangerous but people put themselves in harms way fir shitty photos too much. The spot wasn't terribly dangerous imo, but it would have been a shitty photo, and trying to convince somebody, especially your family that they think is too dangerous for no gain is kinds whack imo.
Alsonfor similar nat park stuff saw a bunch of trees carved in one park last week. Haven't seen too much graffiti this year but that kinds shit always pisses me off. Fuck that shit.
The parks have been way more crowded than usual lately. A lot of spots I frequented 5 years ago that were basically secrets are now insanely crowded every sunny day.
I fucking hate people that litter in the woods. National parks should have a 2 strike rule. Get caught littering once, its a warning and a big fine. Get caught littering twice and you should never be allowed in a national park again.
