I figured if we could rant somewhere we'd be more docile creatures in the rest of the forums.

Yeah that’s what I thought. Briggs puts them in a ton of different engines. I guess it was also my fault for letting it sit with pump gas all winter but on the plus side it was super easy to clean.

Dude honestly I had so many kids do this last semester. I'd always ask them did you do the extra credit? (I gave out up to 35 points ec last semester).....and they would always answer no. The EC was always just a sentence or two of writing. If you can't be bothered to do that I'm not going to bother rounding you from a 56 to a 60. Sorry not sorry.

My apartment complex implemented the most stupid new package policy. Packages will be delivered to electronic lockers instead of the front office and we will be emailed special one-time use codes to pick up our packages. The bullshit part is there's a mandatory $20 sign-up fee. And then I'll be automatically charged $3/day for packages left in the lockers beyond 3 days. I hate this stupid nickle and diming to pick up my own damn mail. Heaven forbid a package arrives while I'm out of town and the front office needs to hold it for an extra few days. Instead I'm forced to pay for their stupid "security feature."

I hate being into music and not tik tok or instagram and I'll be playing some song that I think is at least decent if not good and someone comes thru saying this is that song from tik tok? Why are you listening to it here? As if the song wasn't a song without tik tok. Last year I was really into Fleetwood Mac with my roommates and it came up in conversation with a tinder girl who claimed I only liked them because of tik tok. Like bitch I don't use tik tok and all these songs I'm talking about probably have never been used in one either so stfu. These short-video platforms are ruining our society

I gained back 20 pounds due to stress and not being able to get out as much last semester and I forgot about chub rub. Shouldn’t be hard to lose since I eat well but I really wish my friends would tell me when I get fat

Mountain biking is great and I’ve meet some amazing people. How ever I have not meet more entitled inconsiderate douche kids who have never worked a day in their life. And it pisses me TF off. Not only do they conplain constantly about their bike or bikes and judge people on their bikes. But waste their parents money on stuff that’s not worth it and don’t see an issue with spending 4k of their parents money on a bike with a NX fucking drive train. But complain about the money their just given to spend on these things. It’s truely a blessing and a curse mountain biking. I’ve meet some of the nicest coolest people ever and had amazing times but also met the absolute worst at the same time

Anything youth are involved in you'll get that. Back high school while my water polo teamatea were playing J unior Olympics I was working at Taco Bell. Just the way it is. Gets a little better as you get older and parents start to cut some of your peers off.

All my friends constantly are telling me to buy a bike and come ride with them. Like no? I can't fucking afford that sport. You don't have to tell me 3 times a week to buy a bike when I can barely afford food.

They also tell me to borrow people's bikes so I can come ride....but no. I can't afford to break anything on the bike. I can't even afford to buy you a new tire.


Idk there just seems to be such a disconnect in the biking community. It comes as a shock that people can't afford to buy a piece of aluminum that's worth more than their car.

Yup. 100 percent agree it’s mad expensive just to even get into. So incredibly thankful my parents were able to help me pay for my bike which was 1700$ and I payed half. If I didn’t have that help I don’t think I’d be able to mtb to be honest. And here kids are telling me my bikes not nice enough or I should upgrade this or that or asking me why I don’t have MTB specific clothing. Like dude I don’t have 70-130$ to spend on a pair of shorts or knee pads. Or 60-100$ on a jersey. That shits insane I’ll stick with my hand me downs and thrifted stuff

this is why i'm trying to hype people up on dirt bmx. factory new bikes from solid brands are about $500 and easy to fix if you do somehow manage to break them. you don't need a lift ticket. you don't need a full set of pads. and IMO the feel of flowing through a jump line is just so much nicer than getting your bones rattled trying to ride over rocks and stumps

I care about this one person a lot. They helped me threw my eye injury and going blind and a tramuatic brain injury. And I feel like I can’t help them anymore with them being in a dark place. I try and remind them it’s ok to not be ok. They have value, they’re loved. And it’ll get better at some point and all. But I’m worried it’s not enough.

Yea adding to what Dnolly said - you can only help so much until your friend decides to accept your help. I have a friend who is an alcoholic, deep in depression. She hasn't accepted my help and it's been years. But I always let her know I'm here if she needs.

On the other end I've also opened up to "friends" in the past when I was in a dark place, and they totally shut me out/judged harshly/changed the topic, so it makes a world of difference when you can open up to homies and actually talk about real life struggles face to face

I was mulching a shopping complex a few days ago, I hear a crunch, look up, this guy in a ram backed halfway out of his space and pulls forward to leave drives onto the bike in front of him 😗 I see no ones on it I’m just like oops, he gets out, looks at bike looks around, gets back in, I can see him in his vehicle looking around, dude was gonna leave, he notices me get out my phone , a minute goes by, he moves his truck gets out, looks at me, dude looks like a soldier, he’s well built, uh hurrdrrr can you help me pick this up?

Now understand, I help lots of people, I’d of helped the bikes owner, I’m not touching an insurance claim he can accidentally push over while we’re lifting and say I was part of the damage, sorry I’m smarter than you, sorry you can’t handle your little tonka toy, sorry I made your wife laugh cause your a coward and I’m ridiculously handsome and could chest bump you into a coma, I’ll be there 3 more days I hope I see him again, I’m very tempted to back into his truck 🤪 take out my aggression for being banned for my big horn shenanigans. 😇
