I figured if we could rant somewhere we'd be more docile creatures in the rest of the forums.

ASAPJackJulian Carr is at my home mtn right now and it snowed two ft. I’m in Hawaii rn so I can’t ski the snow or see him. But he or my mtn didn’t even post any content except for him skiing some lame line below the lift. Me and the homies wanted to see what he could stomp in the West Basin and then attempt to try his lines. Like bro send some cliffs

Spring break just started for me and I'm already bored out of my mind. I broke my wrist so I can't skate, play guitar, swim, or pretty much anything else. I was about to have the best spring break ever too. I guess I'll just waste my time on Newschoolers for a week

People are Killington are either assholes or clueless. The cool people are few and far between. Went there Saturday for the first time in 7 years I think. Holy fuck people are dumb. The amount of cluelessness of jerries on the trails was outrageous. People stopped all across the trail leaving tiny slots of space to sneak through. People hidden under rollers. People sitting in the middle of mogul fields. I could go on all day. Holy shit I haven't been to a place this citylike since.... Oh the last time I was at killington.

Then to reaffirm my convictions about Killington being full of assholes.... Rode up whatever that chairlift that goes next to the Outer Limits with this obvious local on 55mm waist skis who was hands down the biggest douche I've ever met. Convo started off with him asking me who makes my skis. Well, "ON3P is the brand" and I had to explain the name and all that shit to which his response was a pompous laugh clothed in ridicule. I talked a bit more about them cuz he had zero fucking clue and seemed interested. At one point I said they're an indie brand that has a pretty big cult following (clearly this dude doesn't participate in ski forums) to which his response was "I remember when Rossignol was indie". Bro wtf are you talking about? Perhaps but fuck man, I'm 30 and Rossignol was all ski resorts had for rentals when I was 10 so either you're full of shit or old as fuck. He then tells me he likes to bring 4 pairs of skis in his truck (yet another person with a truck who probably doesn't need a truck), and swap them out throughout the day based on what he is skiing.... Then as we are watching a fair amount of people navigating their way down the moguls (some OK, some bad, some pretty good skiers), this dude proceeds to talk shit about EVERYONE skiing. "These people think they're hot shit but really they suck at skiing. See these kids (points to junior race team), they think they can ski moguls but they're really garbage. They shouldn't be over here."... Like fuck man this is the worst human being I've ever encountered skiing in my life. I fully regret not asking him some sarcastic thing like "oh you must be an ex-pro racer". I'm sure he was good-better than me but damn he probably thinks he's better than he actually is. Guy if you're reading this, burn your skis and die.

Don't get me wrong. I think they have a huge amount of cool terrain and it is probably a blast on weekday dumps but geeze Saturday reminded me why I have zero desire to ever go to a place like this or Breck or Aspen or Park City or Vail. Missing any?

Lastly, doubt it, but if there's a snowboarder on here who looks like Tanner Hall who I tried to ski with- sorry I lost ya. Thought u were keeping up. And thanks to the dude on the gondola for the beer.

I know this is gonna piss some of you off but being a vegan for the sake of the environment really isn't shit unless you are going fully organic. pesticide-laden factory farms are literally just as bad of polluters as the large cattle farm does the road. yes pesticides dont contribute as much to burning a whole in the Ozone layer as methane but holy shit glysophate pesticides kill fish, forests, and hit humans straight in the endocrine system. Organic and regenerative no-till agriculture matters way more than meat or no meat, with a healthy topsoil you literally dont even need pesticides, and ethically raised meat from farms that use sustainable grazing is not horrible for the environment, its basically up to your preference on meat at that point....organic or nothin bitches


oh shit I forgot to mention how pesticides kill essential pollinators too

I’m not trying to turn this into another vegan thread but the main problem with animal farming is the amount of land it destroys, not as much the chemicals. There are also a ton of reasons to go vegan other than the environment. Lots of people cut down on meat for health or the environment but any full on vegan I know is doing it for the animals.

I was mainly referencing to the moral-high-horse-ethically-invincible-super-vegans. but I mean thats the fucked part about the situation, there is such premium for organic goods that it puts up a barrier for people who cant afford it. we gotta start investing in local farms and organize to start up urban-gardens in food deserts to bring the organic premium down so that good and clean organic produce and foods are more available to lower income families whether in urban or rural areas

Yeah I'm pissed because we ran out of meat from my muley and I'm 17, my parents won't let me go on a spring bear hunt. So we are currently eating beef.

Almost want to start hunting again. I shot a few deer in my early teens and absolutely hated killing such a pretty animal. The more I realize how hypocritical I am and that it would be a much more environmentally friendly way of eating meat I've started to consider it again. Married to a vegan so i dont eat much meat anyway.

I used to hunt and it’s better than buying meat from the store, but ethical meat consumption doesn’t exist.

This was the sad downfall of my previous dog when she tore hers at 12/13, get that thing fixed if it’s still a young pup cause watching mine limp around and need help standing up was tough.

Shes almost 10, we're going to get it fixed. Its killing me not being able to take her on her daily walks or on hikes now that the weather is nice. Hope her other leg doesnt have issues. I think she tore it 2 months back when she was playing in the snow with another dog. She limped for a few days and then it went away until 3 weeks ago.
Will probably have to replace my windows also cuz she punches the shit out of them when she sees us leave for a walk without her.

Homie asked if I wanted to split the difference and meet in Missoula this weekend instead of me going to Flathead or them coming to Gallatin. I said yes, and now he hasn’t responded— I’m just trying to plan my weekend and figured out if I need to pack my camping gear or not. It’s only Thursday but I typically have my week planned by Monday.

Some fucker used my cell number for insurance quotes so I've been getting like 10+ spam calls per day this week with voicemails from real agents. Fucking agents are too stupid to realize that the name doesn't match my voicemail either. And somehow I'm on some list and have been getting congressional calls with voicemail too. Fuck an a.

To top it off the ratchet ass hotel I stayed in last Monday was supposed to reduce my rate cuz I had to move rooms since it was filthy on check in. Fuckers reduced it, but then recharged the initial amount so instead of a discount I got charged 1.5x what I originally was gonna pay. Oh I'm gonna throw down on this one. Time for some free rooms.

I took my van in last week because there was something with my water outlet and it literally drained all of my coolant, got it back a couple days ago only to find out that its still fucking leaking from the same spot, just slower now.... time to go be a Karen and set this right cuz I've dealt with too much bullshit about this car and I just wanna be able to reliably drive it, first the transmission problems that never seem to fully go away and now this

It’s a bummer. I want to hang out and see them but I plan— I’m in grad school and have a huge next two weeks and I quit my job at the end of April. I’m literally planning out my month in advanced, this weekend shouldn’t be that hard IF HE WOULD TEXT BACK.

Earbuds/headphones might be the worst consumer product. Have gone trough so many pairs the last year from different brands and price points and they are all garbage and break so quickly. Beats, dead in a month. Skullcandy, pieces would break off and get stuck in my ear, etc. Best pair I've had in the last year I got on a flight for free but the ear piece fell off and is now a wire to nothing. Bought a pair of cheap ones cause I've learned it straight doesn't matter and after three days one side is already shot. So sick of buying these things but when half my life is done over Zoom and you live with other people they're required. Might have to just buy a pair of big over the ear headphones even though they look stupid. I don't even care for sound quality, just don't want it to be a monthly or even weekly purchase.

yeah, I told him I was going to go ski and we could link up another time. He’s busy too— I’m quitting my job in April and he’s about to take some time off to just chill so we’re going to shoot for May instead.

I’ve had this problem before with some really nice guitars, I would just get it set up. Take it to a guitar tech with a good reputation and that’ll fix pretty much any tuning problem in my experience.

Also what kind of guitar is it? You might want to think getting a new nut or maybe bridge saddles. Even changing the kind of strings you use can make a big difference for tuning stability.

it’s an epi ‘84 explorer, it honestly was a waste of money. The bridge pickup (EMG) has barely any output and it’s just an ass guitar.

Oh that makes sense because the guitar I was having problems with was a higher end Epiphone. Epis definitely just have super shitty plastic nuts for some reason but idk if you want to invest any more in a guitar you don't like.

Mtn in Africa decided they will open. But also decided not to bring down any internationals because ski season and borders could close at any point. Sucks because I think this year will look pretty good for theier season and border isn't too bad there. Feel like things will keep getting more lax.

Was really looking forward to building parks in Africa again. Maybe another year i guess.

Idk honestly man. Open to doing trail crew at the resort if they need it. Going to probably build rails here in the early fall. Kinda depends on work options for main part of summer. Moght just throw out some feelers to friends and see what people got around this country and then maybe move summer for summer to work.
