Mtuhockey33Dude your outside skiing. I don’t know how many times you’ve ever come into close contact with anyone while skiing but literally the only time I ever come within 6’ of someone is lift lines.


and if you truly believe that 6’ distancing and wearing masks helps then skiing should be safe.

It boggles my mind when I see people outside walking their dog wearing a mask. Or driving a car and wearing a mask. Viruses gonna virus - if you’re gonna get it you’re gonna get it. My sisters husband tested positive (firefighter) and she continually tested negative despite living together, not wearing masks inside the house (she was required to quarantine as soon as he tested positive as she works at a hospital) and sleeping in the same bed.

but yeah, because a ski resort is having a good year and people want to go outside and ski to forget about this shitty pandemic, we need to close this shit down!!

MinggVerizon fios is shady as fuck. Only reason I’m getting internet from Verizon is because it’s all the house is wired for. But I took a video of buying it and it said it was going to be 35.99 with a $5 discount. But every time I clicked that service it came up as 39.99 and that the offer was only good until the 3rd. So I called and they said that they would give me the $35.00 per month but since I ordered it over the phone I’d have to pay a $100 installation fee(which is waived for online orders). Such a joke. I hope one of these days Verizon loses a lawsuit over their bullshit hidden fees and horrific customer service.


also not really that mad about the $5 but this is a continuation of the $1000 they charged us when we moved and they never turned our service on at the new location - still charged us 3 months while we waited for someone to come turn it on(covid made that hard). And then after 3 months of waiting they terminated our contract and charged us $350 when they were the ones who wouldn’t/couldn’t turn on our service and were charging us for services we couldn’t use lol.

Brule.I don’t get why people have a problem wearing masks while skiing. Like if you can’t deal with wearing one over your nose while skiing, why bother going outside?

Story time. Earlier this morning at the mountain I work at, I was assigned to deal with the public and kindly remind people to properly wear their mask while at the mountain unless they’re actively riding or sitting down in the lodge eating. So I saw these two older people who were most likely old enough to be my parents in the lift line and their masks were slightly above their upper lips, which looks like having your dick hang out when wearing underwear imo. I kindly asked them to please pull their masks above their nose and the old woman replies back to me saying “it makes me sick.” I then reminded them by saying, “unless you’re actively skiing or sitting in the lodge masks have to be worn over the nose.” At the same time I’m thinking two things: 1) why the fuck are they even at a packed place like a ski area if wearing a mask properly makes them sick; and 2) how shitty would it be if the mountain has to shut down and ruin the fun for everyone else because of their careless actions. I fucking hate people, man.

Also saw a fight in the gondola lift line in the same morning over mask wearing lmao #worldstar

BrandoComandoYou're completely right, the virus doesn't put healthy people at risk. That's not why we wear masks though. It's to protect the at-risk people. It's so that we don't overwhelm hospitals. Even with all this mask stuff, the hospitals are still at or over ICU capacity in much of the country. Without masks, they would be over capacity.

My gf is a nurse at a hospital here in Reno. A few months ago, the covid unit got so full that the hospital started putting beds in the parking garage. She literally works in the parking garage now because the covid unit in the hospital is overflowing with patients.

Wearing masks has nothing to do with your rights or your own health. It's to protect the hospitals. People are forgetting this

safarisamI totally get that isolation has been super hard, but having to wait 3 months because of the increased demand is fucked. BZN was 4 months out for psychology appointments. Thankfully MSU can force us into local clinics if it’s urgent buy gosh dang it sucks when you need help now.

theabortionatorSuper shitty. Sometimes it really ruins it for the kid whether its, sports, an instrument, whatever. By all means get stoked for your kid and bring them skiing, to the skatepark, get them guitar lessons, but don't force your kid to "train" because you weren't famous enough and want your kid to be. If its the kids dream, hell yeah, support it, but I hate when parents are super pushy trying to live through their kids. Meh.

DeebieSkeebiestrying to get issues fixed is hard in ski towns and resort towns too because our resources are lacking and honestly, not everyone can afford them even if theyre provided through employers, nor is it easy to find time off from work to go and talk about things. You just get send to the same behavioral health facility or provider that every other employer in town uses. Its shitty. You just come off as another bitchy resort worker.
