theabortionatorWheel cats are fucking stupid. There's litterally no advantage. If just trail grooming is doesnt limit you that badly. Yes doesn't limit you that badly.
Meaning even trail groomings it's shot. You're reving with only the foot pedal so people are def not keeping it in the econ range. It's less confortable, even trail grooming you have to maintain lift ramps or dig around buildings, doze stuff etc.
You have lag in between your directions which is never good.
Buying new cats in modern times makes 0 sense. I don't think anyone can come up with a good argument.
I've heard previous mgmt used the "well people will fall asleep and keep moving". Meh all the other disadvantages that's just a stupid reason.
The only legitimate reason to prefer a wheel cat is that you haven't run a stick cat. That's it. There's no room for debate. That's why places only buy sticks ever since they got their first one. Some places have switched their fleets over.
Obviously with older fleets it makes sense, or if you get a used ine from europe or something but buying one new in even the last 5 plus years is insane.
It just puts the funcrions in bad spots and you're working around its flaws rather than seeing any advantage.
Ended up cool. Did a solid regroom in heinous packy snow. Actually not heinous but pretty shitty and made the park mint again for less than an inch of snow. Talked to boss a while at some point. Wasnt bitching about anything just talking ideas and shit. Got a card fir doing a good job thats like a work places scratch off tyoe thing. Was like cool msybe ill win a burrito or something. Antway it said 1 and saw a dollar sign and i was like cool i won a buck kinda lame but whatever. Then found a 0 and was like fuck yeah 10 bucks im with it. Then saw another 0 and was like fuck 100 bucks? Hoping it's real and not some work place prank. Idk if anyone woukd fuck with grave shift people that hard because that's risky.
But yeah pretty stoked. I have been soing a good job too. Doing extra work in the park. Havent been able to reset shit but made sure its mint, made the drop in big and super crisp. Took down the rope lines and stole snow/regraded the whole park. Also been helping teach other people shit, rebuilding/regrading normal trails for the trail guys. But was pretty sad about the cat and some other things and that scratch off def made me feel way better.
Plan was always to just to keep trucking along and do a good job regardless but feels good to have that. Im already motivated but sometimes when on that grave life little things help. 100 bucks is more than a little but the thought even more. Like cool, somebody cares.
A lot of times you could fix a trail and put a ton of work in and youll never here about it. I still do it. And this guy doesnt even seen the trails, but the trail guys have liked me helping them out so we can groom more terrain snd the park is small.
Idk i need to go to bed.
