Also believe me. I get the magic of early snow eapecially when you're younger and how exciting that is. Im just bitching because I'm stuck in friggin Laramie WY lol.

Also still super anxious about getting to work.

If you got some snow and are enjoying the fuck out of the backyard, sledding hill. Urban rails, or you mtn is open, dont read too much into this.

When you're driving 4k+ miles this stuff can get pretty frustrating. Hope everyones doing well.

I knew of it from a dude i worked with in NZ. He'd been going in his summers. He posted something in a park facebook group and i asked if he'd be up this year. Next thing guy running park program messaged me. Was trimming some weed and he called me and we chatted and he offered me a gig there.

I've never heard a bad thing from any friends that have skied there. Hoping it works out on both sides. I was getting boned by VR. Fuck that company. Wasn't necessarily trying to leave Tahoe but it was too good an opportunity to pass up. Also hut me uo at a good time. Tahoe was a shit show this summer with everybody from the bay area on covid vacation. Couldnt do anything. I don't care where people are from but leave your douchey city vibes behind. Saw so much drama and bullshit. Even a fucking domestic in front of my house. Idk. Just shitty people, lots of traffic, was kinda over it.

But yeah. Im excited to start somewhere new and hopefully it all works out. Always a little stressful trying to work on with a new crew. Make decent first inpressions, work into the rhythm of things etc. Making friends in covid year should be interesting.

Really getting nervous that I won't have a ski season this year cuz no one will want Ohioans traveling to their state. Even if I did follow state guidelines I feel like I'd probably be profiled.

We are in a bit of a surge right now and there's no signs of that slowing down anytime soon with how people are acting and at the rate this is spreading. Columbus is getting a bit stretched on hospital staff and available beds based on firsthand knowledge and some logistical changes I've been made aware of within and between hospitals. Available hospital and ICU beds statewide are ok at about 70-80% full with about 15-20% being covid patients and that number is increasing every day steadily. We are historically pretty fucked come wintertime with cold and flu so if it stays on track like this, we might be in a bad spot in the next 2-4 weeks, especially with Thanksgiving.

The most aggravating part is we could minimize this without quarantine if people just followed basic guidelines but no "ma freedoms are persecuted" and others simply don't know how to wash their hands.

I have been hiking up vail everyday for 4 days now, since I got here.
in the first 2 days i was breaking trail having a blast blah blah.
the 3rd was alright too.
then November 15th rolls around and rip literally every single skin track because the jerrys are here and the don't care.
literally slipping back down the hill on a 5 degree slope because johnny colorado U decided to stomp his fat feet all over me prestine ski track. and all his drunk snowshoe friends started pissing on it every 100 feet.
oh the snowshoe track 3 feet to the right of the skin track that is screaming "use me im a staircase" fuck that johnny is a real inbounds backcountry snowboarder, he doesnt have to use the snowshoe track for his snowboard boot pack.

I used to lowkey be pissed that Alta doesn't allow snowboarders but now I really understand. snowboarders will ruin any skin track in the name of 250 lazy feet of vert. god thing alta doesn't allow the willful destruction of trails. And then in the summer these same people will shamelessly police anyone who cuts switchback. bitch please

Meh. I'll drive back to CO and shit in the skin track. Alta doesn't allow snowboarder because the super duper "we're so damn core" types want to stay pure.

I've been stuck behind skiers blocking traverses plenty of times. Skiers boot packing the skin track etc.

I get that it's a skiing site but everyone going to the "damn snowboarders" without being sarcastic is kinda lame.

Also I skin up alta in the spring. Silly salty skiers.

Finally got back to me after 3 days. But still dont have any loot. Kind of fucked but whatever. Hoping to get my loot and then not ever deal with anything financial with him outside of a beer. I wouldn't even split a hotel etc with somebody like this.

Well see where it goes. Hoping he's just kind of a piece if shit slightly and not a total scumbag.

I'm just finally getting back to work in the next few days and i just drive across the country, need to move into a new place. I'm in no place to float anyone on anything and honestly i dont even have enough to move in. So ill have to sort that out. Pretty fucking dope.

But it's whatever. Even having to wait is fucking me but at least if I get it in the end itll be kind of whatever. Not ideal, and super shitty on his part, but if I get fully boned on this. Well ill wait and see I guess. But hoping it doesn't go to that level. Some people are shot.

I just hate when people do the "oh i don't have it" as if somehow I'm in some better financial situation. Also brought him some of his shit from the east coast. No big deal but space is super limited whem youre whole life is in your Subaru so kind of a lot to take down any of that space.

Idk like i said down to help out friends, but some people even friends kinda suck. Luckily i have a pretty awesome group of friends all over that this shit is never an issue with.

Also a reason why this dope trust we've built up never goes unappreciated. Sometimes the shittier friends remind you of that.

I saw about 7-10 along the skinner this weekend out of Albion through Catherine’s, just step off the track into a safe spot with some trees and go there, nobody wants to have piss slush on their skins. Can’t blame people and tell em to go prior to touring, I’m slamming water once I wake up to when I’m booting up, and usually start off having to piss badly lol, typically hold it til im in a good spot or I’m at a trailhead with bathrooms. Not the biggest deal in the world but seeing so many in one area was a bit gross I guess.

It’s getting cold out and I’m losing pretty much all hope on this shit. cant evict them (yet) but sure as shit gonna sue them for the $4,000 in rent they haven’t fucking paid.

lol yeah coffee goes right through me but I try to hit a tree or at least go off to the side a little. also if there’s fresh snow it is pretty easy to kick some in to bury it

I have 11 pending COVID tests from the end of September until now. They haven’t been processed. What the fuck is the point in mandating tested 1-2x per week if they aren’t even going to get processed??? I could have been positive last month and never known it cause they didn’t run the tests!! Such a fucking shit show. I called today to inquire about my results and the lady just about jumped out of her chair saying she doesn’t have them and that the lab “must be two months behind.” I wanted to tell her to cool it but I asked if not having results meant they weren’t processed or just not uploaded into the system and she said that they weren’t processed so. I guess here we are. What a waste of time.

America's current political state is so unbelievable. Both sides are so obviously corrupt.

The threads on this are going way too far imo. It's so stupid how quickly someone will go and call the other side Nazi's and other worse terms. I can't believe how angry some people (occasionally including myself) get over someone talking shit on the internet. People are just so out of line right now.

Especially with COVID, it's horrible how people can just be like "no I don't care about this, people are not dying, and at least not people that matter" like wtf. Now all of the sudden all the people who have loved ones that have died don't matter at all. A few months ago the right was screaming "all lives matter" which they clearly don't mean. It's just so stupid.

And so many self-declared liberals are being extremely hypocritical about it, like "yeah I care about the Coronavirus, but I'll still go hang out with people without a mask while indoors, because I know I won't get it". It's so dumb. Anyone can get and spread COVID, you and your friends included. And the whole celebrating the election was the dumbest shit ever. so many people rallying in the streets and not following the social distancing rules.

I personally don't believe that there were abnormal amounts of fraud in the election, but I'm open to the possibility if more evidence arose. I just don't understand how people can believe a random tweet or video about the election, but not a verified news source. I was talking to my republican roommate about it yesterday, and he said that he saw a video of someone in Nevada writing "Donald Duck" on a ballot and submitting it. And after a quick google search, you could see that it is illegal to photograph your ballot in Nevada. Also, why would someone want to photograph their obviously fraudulent ballot and post it?

I swear people were being more sophisticated about politics in May about the whole BLM and police fiasco. Why can't people just be reasonable about this.
