Yeah I know there were some rant threads over the years grinds my gears and whatever. I don't think any of them were that happening to dig up. I probably made one of them honestly. Whatever.

I figured if we could rant somewhere we'd be more docile creatures in the rest of the forums.

Damn homie, my identity was stolen about 15 years ago, had 3 houses in my name and was a million dollars in debt. I had no clue until I started getting phone calls from a mortgage company about payment, I was like what? Come to find out, there was a lawyer, 2 accountants and finance person that had stolen peoples identities from a credit union I banked at and purchased over 300 homes using others credit. They were caught and I got some info about it from the prosecuting attorney in the county they were from. It sucked bad for the following 5 years, I couldnt buy a paper clip if I had to use credit. It sounds like you may have some sort of protection with your info which is great! I wont go without it now.

Some people stole my health insurance and I got overwhelmed with med Bill's to the point i chose bad credit over sorting thru all the bs. Now nobody will steal my identity cause my credit is so fucked up. Alls well that ends well i guess.

At the age of 12, someone, idk who, took out a mortgage in my name. So at the ripe age of 18 with literally nothing but this on my credit my score could have practically been negative. It was nuts. I couldn’t get a student loan. But it was all taken care of. Someone is out 300k but at least it’s not on my credit report anymore haha.

Today was a fucking shit show.

First - I pick up a coworker and give her a ride to work most mornings. Fine. But today I tell her I'm on my way and when I'm halfway to her house we get a text/alert saying we are overstaffed so one person could be voluntarily downstaffed. She called off but this was after waking up a half an hour early to get her which was fucking frustrating.

The morning was crazy. 7 out of my 8-bed assignments needed total bed changes. 3 of them were because the overnight staff didn't check on our people and just let them soak in their own piss. 1 guy who literally asks for nothing ever requested it so I had no problem doing his. One person was a shower which we automatically change on shower days. Another person was put in bed without a bed protector so she soaked the whole bed. And then one person was discharged so the entire room has to be scrubbed down for the next patient.

Around 9:45-10 I was finally finishing up my morning work, which is usually done at 8:30. There was a million call lights, therapy and other staff members asking for help with other aide's assignments. I don't mind helping but I have no fucking clue where the rest of our aides were and I couldn't keep up and since I was the only one around, I was the only one that could help/be asked.

Among these requests, therapy asks me to take a resident to the bathroom. She is moderately panicking. Not unusual as she is chronically confused/has dementia. I help her on the toilet but as she is sitting she says she needs help. Aside from the physical movement, there isn't much I can do. I try to reassure her that she is safe and to relax. But homegirl takes my relaxation recommendation seriously and fucking PASSES OUT. I thought she died as this was my first experience with this situation. In denial, I told myself she was seizing which looking back, definitely could have been a possibility. But yeah, thought she died. She didn't, thank god. But it was stressful. And I had to go into the next room like nothing happened which was stressful and i had zero time to process what happened.

Then shortly after 10 my coworker leaves. No one knows why, she just fucking left. So the assignments got jumbled around and I had the majority of her people- she never finished her morning assignment and passed it off to me. So now I'm technically still responsible for my morning work and I have to finish hers as well as doing afternoon tasks on a longer set of patients since we were down a person.

It was chaos. I attempted to start a shower at 1pm. But it wasn't actually 1pm, it was 2:05 and the end of my shift. If I clock out after 2:07 I have to get supervisor and scheduler approval for potentially going into overtime hours... and I literally had no idea because I was running like a chicken with my head cut off all day. I don't think I actually had a moment to breathe and really just wanted to die.

And despite all the fucking words above, I'm still stoked to go to work on Monday. I love my job. It is truly an awesome one. I love the work itself, sometimes not the structure and circumstances. But it's nice to not feel dread of going back even after a shitty day. I think this is where I am realizing I'm on the right career path.

My parents, niece and nephew and I planned a trip for Disney in March. I booked the room and bought myself a plane ticket.


Now, my parents niece and nephew aren’t going. And I’m stuck with a plane ticket that I can’t get a refund for. I have no friends to go with. I asked all 2 of them.


if there’s ever been a fucking reminder of how much of a fucking loser I am, it’s right now.

I’m not a Disney hater I went as a kid my mom had work conferences in Orlando it has no appeal as an adult nor does Florida in general BUT that’s probably a good place to go solo and get drunk. Lots of vacations aren’t skiing is rare in not needing a friend. Just talk to other people you see drinking. Can you afford a hotel, park tickets, Uber, booze? Don’t see any way to go cheap and it not suck.


Or just go with chubz.

I honestly don't know how many friends I've lost. Honestly probably far more than I even know since I'm on the move and out of the loop.

Fuck every piece of shit scumbag politician pushing "We're gonna get hard on drugs!!! Crack down and stop this"

Fuck them and every ignorant piece of shit that thinks similarly. I'm usually pretty cool with people believing stupid bullshit, but people are fucking dying.

Fuck people bullshit agendas. Thankfully we're making SOME progress. Too little to late maybe, but something. Unfortunately too many ignorant fucks are like "Yo drugs are bad, say no to drugs, put em in jail, fuck treatment options etc".

Its ridiculous that Narcan/Naloxone is kind of hard to get. We are in an opioid epidemic but getting something that can stop people from ODing is hard.

I got a credit but it has to be used by november of next year. I'm starting school full time in May and will have at most 3 days off from May until Winter break. So I can't use it anytime next year. I'd use it for a winter trip but our PTO for Jan-April was due last week. I'd have a hell of a time getting off from work for an appropriate weekend. Can't rent a car though and I have no one who wants to go with me. So I'd rather be out $350 than spend more money on a trip that might not even work out and waste more money. Idk. I'm stressed out and gave up on this.

True. I would, but I have to work with her every day hahaha. I like her, I do. And I really don’t mind every now and then but I hate feeling like I’m being relied on, for anything really. Ive been picking up shifts because I need money and it messes with her ride schedule. I shouldn’t feel bad because it’s not my problem, but I do. I also work at a ski shop so sometimes I go from my full time job straight to the shop and can’t take her home. Again, something I shouldn’t feel bad about, but I do.


Life is so much easier when you’re on your own. But I’ll still complain about being lonely by next week so I really can’t win hahaha.

It's gotten a lot better but even then. And people actually fought it even being accessible at all.

Things are turning in the right direction but is way too slow. It's crazy that people will legitimately fight progress/people not dying.

For all the money vail makes they should be providing park crews (and all outside crews) with full get ups all decked out and badass to look good for customers. Like "oh their employees look badass af".... Guess not.

Interesting because I'm sure they could prob get huge industry discounts and buying in bulk and such. Could easily clothe all their employees for the cost of their shittiest resort's single day's revenue.

I'm doing a month of snowmaking to pick up hours but would be pretty much the same pants for that either way. I don't wear snow pants in the cat unless blizzard nights but still good to have.

For snowmaking it's pretty clutch to have your gear if you're out getting soaked in the cold all night.

Whats sad is this is a prevalent problem at not just your resort but at every vail resort in the country practically. Our lodging property last year was identical, I had maintenance guys answering calls to fix endless fireplaces along with running towels and bedsheets to rooms on top of being bellman. It was a fucking shitshow. ZERO fucking support from anyone above you at all and zero support for them either from their superiors. Its a great time telling people there isnt a manager on site when their ski vacation just went to shit.
