Yeah I know there were some rant threads over the years grinds my gears and whatever. I don't think any of them were that happening to dig up. I probably made one of them honestly. Whatever.

I figured if we could rant somewhere we'd be more docile creatures in the rest of the forums.

Dude, you wanna make six figures, run resorts, but literally NOTHING your bosses or co-workers are telling you to do sticks in your brain? I hate the upstairs neighbors so fucking much. They are so fucking loud. When they first moved in, they started fighting right away. They would shout for hours, stomp around and yell some more. They turn their shitty bollywood music way up and turn the TV louder to overcome the music.
A few days ago, their 3 year old daughter arrived from India. They never gave me a heads up, so at 5am; it sounded like elephants running up and down my ceiling. The child had, on average 10 meltdowns an hour. The thrashing was louder than Tony fucking Hawk skateboarding above my apartment,
I told them to find a way to reduce the noise, because its really unfair for me. I asked for a 7am noise reduction time and not let the child run in the apartment. I moved here 6 years ago without issue and in 6 months, you make me want to move away. They did nothing to help,

They wake the child at 530am to stay bye to mom before work. So the child runs around, thumps around and screams until 630am. Then at 730, the child reawakens and goes on running and screaming mode. The dad doesnt want to care much so he let her scream for about 5 minutes until he starts screaming and stomping around the apartment to punish her...which leads to more screaming.
This happens every day...They cant be evicted for noise; its a child making it,

Sounds like your foot should find a new home.... probably in all their asses after you kick them. Wouldn't put up with that its probably best to try to make their lives more miserable the listening to them until they leave.

Start a fire up there.

Also have their car towed somewhere they won't find it.

People cannot figure out the automatic safety bars on this lift and it's giving me an aneurysm. There's no less that EIGHT fucking signs scattered around the lift that say the bar raises automatically, one of which is literally right on the bar that the people stare at while they try to rip the damn thing open.

It is always worth it, and I honestly still cant believe how we managed to luck out with some all-time skiing while at the same time I talked with folks today at work that couldn't even get on the mountain due to crowds. Unreal MLK weekend thus far

To be fair it doesn't open until super super late....definitely nerve-racking for your average person

Does it hurt the lift to lift it manually?

Have you ridden ram8? It opens plenty early, way earlier than powder seeker or other lifts with auto bubbles. This lift has locking bars so you physically can't open it once it's down. And it does fuck them up when people try and rip them open, I've had to fix 12 already and the damn thing has only been open since Dec 15. The part that gets messed up costs over $1k too so that's dope...

Unfortunately with any detachable terminal design you really cant put it further back. It's right at the optimal decel point and any further back it'll open way too fast and really fuck some people's world's up. When people sit back like they're supposed to and let it open on it's own they never seem to have timing issues with unloading, it's the ones who flip about it not opening that crash. I watch people unload that thing 50 hours a week and whenever riders do what they're supposed to there's never any issues. I think I've seen more carnage at the top of Swifty than I'll probably ever see on r8.

To be fair I'm also just defensive about that lift, it's my baby. I helped build the damn thing all summer and now I'm lead mechanic on it so it irks me more than most when people fuck it up.

Started watching "Save the Last Dance" and instantly reminded me of one of my friends from High School because we used to listen to a bunch of hip hop, I'd dance with her sometimes, and she also used to do pointe. Def will always think of her when I watch or think of the movie.

Hadn't seen the movie in forever, and hadn't talked to her in like 5 years. Sent her a message on facebook like "Watching save the last dance cause yolo...". Then after actually starting the movie remembering that a bunch of the plot is about her mom dying and then remembered that my friends mom died of cancer 5 years ago.

I was wondering if there was an unsend option, saw a delete button. Was an hour ish after I sent it. Hopefully she didn't see it or it'd be weird that I deleted it lol. Fuck.

Unreal, they lost or "misplaced" a huge number of backcountry shipments in the last 2 weeks due to weather and Backcountrys issuing either full refunds or replacement orders. Might just be folks in Utah who are getting them but it sucks either way.


Fuck paying full retail at a shop but honestly youll at least get the product you want.

Jesus christ, I tell this guy politely 2 nights in a row "hey could you turn the movie down" and it's cool. I think by the third night he would get the message and keep his movie down, because. I just want to own a quiet cabin in the middle of BC, with a remote networking job and have some snowmobiles. Nice and quiet.

Funny enough, postal service actually got my sisters carepackage to our house in the midst of the huge storms we've been getting so its just OnTrac being the usual piece of shit company they are.

I was gonna see if there was some sort of theft claim you could do because my package literally up disappeared according to the tracking info. It was held at their facility on the 15th and dead silence ever since. Reaching out to backcountry to get the full scoop was helpful though. Somehow, someway, OnTrac lost a ton of orders, thousands of dollars in stuff, and I've tried reaching out to them numerous times and haven't heard back and forget sitting on hold for an hour. Not saying something fishy is up but regardless at least get back to people needing information.


Its just kinda shitty because I've had great experiences with Backcountry in years past but this ordeal sorta ruins that and while the few times Ive gotten things from Evo, I think they're my go-to online retailer now. Nothing but good experiences when ordering stuff from them, and they use a carrier that will actually get back to you in terms of customer support.

It blows my mind business owners choose to use a company like OnTrac though. I sure hope they have insurance covering their products or else they are totally fucked.

I really didn't notice it to this extent until I went into lecture halls with ~30% of normal occupancy in the middle of the week. Retention rate here is 45% for obvious reasons.

Oh maybe that's what triggered it initially. I noped out around the "m" after 45 minutes and the line was still bumper to bumper back to main lol couldn't believe it.

Nothing will ever ever top the traffic clustershitshowfuck that is the mouths of big and little cottonwood with cars backed up all the way to I-215 almost to millcreek/olympus cove, which is like 5+ miles away from the mouths of the canyons.

ive been blessed with job opportunities to where parking isnt an issue for me on days before work or days off, but as a local I can agree with this statement, sometimes earlier. Me and my dad roll into town around 7:45am when we go together. MLK weekend, all PC lots filled up before 8:45. Its nuts

Robert Redford, the founder of the festival, even came out today to say that this festival has ran its course far too long and it either needs to be moved or just outright nixed. Its really not that huge of a money maker to the local businesses anymore, and considering we are getting a ton of more people for skiing, PC business owners are going to make more than enough and Sundance is just a way for city council to line their pockets.

Lol thats funny he would say that, so many people that live up there hate the event coming to them, I think I remember south park having an episode on how film festivals ruin their little ski town just like the event did to park city. I hate the traffic cause it brings more Utah natives in who literally dont know how to be behind the wheel of a car. At least the hill wont be shithoused, i hope

Titus69Lol thats funny he would say that, so many people that live up there hate the event coming to them, I think I remember south park having an episode on how film festivals ruin their little ski town just like the event did to park city. I hate the traffic cause it brings more Utah natives in who literally dont know how to be behind the wheel of a car. At least the hill wont be shithoused, i hope


Its no longer worth the money it makes nor has it ever been. Park City is in the Top 5 rankings of Wealthiest Places to live in the Country, according to a Forbes article I read like a month ago. We've never ever been strapped for cash, this is a town literal billionaires come to play so we've never been worried about cashflow. Not to mention, we have an Ikon Pass resort and the largest ski area in the US that gets tons of both domestic and international travelers. The resorts are doing fine, and even did well during times of recession. While I can't speak for the local business owners of the town, I know at least they already have an overwhelmed workforce. Is there any reason to make it much worse and possibly lose more employees just for a fat check you get for two weeks?

City council honestly just dips the fuck out and lines their pockets with this shit. They're so dirty, and they never get anything done. These people who run this town honestly have no idea at all. They're the same fucking assholes who go out on the town with the rest of these shitheads.
