I hate having experiences with another group of people (who are stereotyped as doing or behaving a certain way) and they indeed behave in that way - above and beyond any reasonability. I know not every individual of a generalized group behaves the same but it's so difficult to move away from stereotypes when you have stereotypical interactions. It just kind of reinforces the idea and I consciously am aware of that but at the same time, part of me wants to prove the stereotype wrong but today the stereotype won a wee bit.

I was working with a man signing up for a lesson about 5 mins before the lesson goes out - no biggie. He has his gear on and ready to go, just needs to sign a thing and walk 30 feet. So I'm working with him and 3 minutes before the lesson goes out a woman and her 3 kids come in demanding to be in the lesson, as I'm still finishing up with this dude. rude. Anyways, the supervisors have already headed out to line up so I can't really ask if they can be added late. I tell them we can start the process but I need to contact a supervisor before getting them on the hill. We start - I ask if they need rentals. They say yes, I ring up a package that includes rentals and give them their total. It's too much money. I go over what is being included and the mom goes "no, we have equipment." And I apologize and state that I thought they needed rentals. To which she responded that she does in fact need rentals. Basically we ended up with she needs rentals but they have equipment already - at this point they are 7 minutes late to the lesson and I want them on the hill. I ring them up and then she gives me a hard time about the lift tickets and pricing. I go over her options several times - she goes with the cheapest, most restrictive pass. The lessons have started and intros are done and she sees the instructors leaving the meeting area AND SHE SPRINTS OUT OF THE BUILDING TO TELL THEM TO WAIT FOR HER!!! What the fuck!! So at this point I've already finalized the transaction but it times out because she leaves so I need to re ring up everything for her fucking children. It was a mess but finally got figured out (sort of). 10 minutes later she is back inside to exchange the lift tickets. The only way I can upgrade a lift ticket is to void the previous and give a new one - otherwise you are paying full price. The kids have already gone out to the lesson so I need their lift tickets. I let her know that they can do this after the lesson with no problem.

5 mintues after that she comes back in the with kids, instructors and supervisor demanding the new lift ticket - taking away so much time and energy from this fucking lesson. I upgrade their lift tickets and hope it's the end of that.

Later in the day, the son wants to exchange his snowboard for skis. I tell him he didn't rent from us so we can't do that(because they have their own equipment - or at least thats what mom said). But he confirms that he did rent from us the previous day. Turns out they did rent, but never returned their equipment and did not mention this and basically got free rentals for the day.

AND THEN, literally HOURS after their lesson is over they come in demanding free hot cocoa. A supervisor tells them no but then caves because these children are fucking gnarly. I go to make the hot cocoa but the phone rings and I'm the only one at the desk so I have to answer the phone because it takes priority over these fucking humans. While doing so these kids are SCREAMING at me to the point that the woman on the other end can't hear me. These kids were 16, 14, and 11. Who the fuck at that age does that over free hot cocoa? I could have easily told them that they had to pay for it at the lodge but I was being nice. Thank god the phone call took much longer than needed (mostly due to the difficulty in hearing) because after a few minutes they left and I didn't have to give it to them.

So basically fuck this family - fuck them for trying to steal from us/demand free shit and for being overall obnoxious assholes EVERYTHING UNDER GOD'S FUCKING SUN.

I needed to take a breather a few times typing. My hands were actually hurting because my brain was working much faster than they could move. I’m fried. Lol

Can we acknowledge how hard it is to work 40 hours a week, work in a lab for 6 hours a week in between classes, do hw up until finals week, and have all my papers (3!!!) Due Monday and my only final on Monday because I’m waking up at 6 am to finish a paper that’s due at 10 am tomorrow. I’ve been working on these for a while (15-20 pages per paper) but still have 5 pages to go. Then, i need to start studying for my final, because history classes have me reading around 1,000 pages a week including last week + reading quizzes and other papers due within the last week. I’m literally going to get a massage after my final tomorrow because i deserve it after this week. Plus i can’t bullshit two papers because we’re trying to publish one and the other is jumpstarting a huge Bozeman history project.


All that being said: my papers were finished and my final happened, but not before I twice my ankle, fell on my back, and spilt my tea on my face and ALL OVER MY GLASSES

The student life is a real grind and its not just showing up to classes a few times a week and getting blasted on the weekends.......and for older generations to shit on us millenials for not working hard, we're just about the only people I can safely say that can go to school full-time, hold a job, balance life and relationships, and still come out of it barely hanging on.

Good God I relate so hard. Working in the lab, trying to get published, working at my internship, in multiple capstone's and trying to maintain any sort of social life is fucking brutal. Not to mention I have to keep my A's to get into grad school and my GRE is in early January and I haven't had any damn time to study.

First take home final I've had and I blanked that it was due at 12:30 today. Finished up quick and slid it under the professor's office door five hours late when I realized this but I've been in school too fucking long to be doing dumb shit like this. I'll still pass but it's painful knowing I will likely exchange an A for a C fuck.

I mean when you're workin as much as some of us resort workers do on some weeks, I honestly cannot think of any better way to spend days off than ripping around with a pack full of beers stashed in the woods, plenty of doobs, and some buds to share it with. At least for me, I can kinda see why thats appealing to a lot of shredders lololol. But im not gonna hate you for not having a beer. I like a little buzz sometimes and thats not a crime at all (until it probably will be in the Lawsuit States of America.)





Sooooo....basically our favorite zone to ski on this side of the range is being shrunk tremendously, and now what was once a really killer area to ski is now technically "out of bounds" and the resort boundary rope line because some old dipshit wants to be spiteful for the sake of it and told Vail/Park City to get fucked, and pulled the land lease agreement out from underneath them. Really lame shit, and I understand that you can do whatever you please with whatever parcels you own, but being a dick like this because you want to stick it to the man is actually effecting the local population, which Im positive isn't the goal with this move. People are gonna be livid when this gets out more and more and The Park Record writes an article about it.

Pinecone Ridge all the way along the ridgeline of Scotts Bowl which is some mellow wide-open glade cruising when its fresh, so its roped off like right at the part that you bomb down to get to the ridgeline basically. Pinecone has already been fucked since they built the gondola that connects PC and The Canyons, but scotts and everything else is really fun to ski actually. Its a place a lot of us grew up skiing, popped our first pow day cherries at, sorta found our calling in terms of what kinda skiing we wanna do, and its a good place to call home and powerlap with crews old friends and new ones.

Not only that, my friends and a lot of locals have been skiing here for DECADES, their parents skied there, etc. that kind of stuff......So to see some self-proclaimed "local" or whatever pull the rug out from underneath the local population, its pretty saddening.

My weeks have become 50 hours of working full time and then studying for the CPA for at least 30 hours, so 80+ total. I've had to make everything in my life as efficient as possible ( meal prepping, morning gym, combining all errands together). Still doesn't feel like enough.

The shitty part is I'm only 3 weeks into this schedule, and still have 6 months to go assuming I pass all the parts on the first try, which only 10% - 15% of candidates manage to do.

Its all good though, this morning I took a day off from studying to skin up Baldy before the sun rose. Helped reset everything.

Got bitched at about my car being parked at the shop still today. There's no parking and the shop is bullshit anyway. Sorry, I work 12 hour shifts generally, if I want to ride I'm just going to ride after. Also making snow in my snowboard boots atm since the new boots never came in yet at the mountain. No way I'm going to drive my car all the way around over by the village, take a shuttle to the village, walk across the village to the gondola, and ride back up to "mid mountain".

Also the layout in general is terrible. Having your access point be below all your terrain, and a Gondola or chairlift(when it's running) be the only access point is a pretty big fail. But there's one flat trail you can ride to get to the base so technically it's the base.

We're still working out of construction trailers and likely still will be in a decade. Small shop, no parking, etc. So I get the issues.

The dumb thing is, both departments I work for are legit based out of that yard. Maybe if parkings so shot, add some fucking spots, I mean there's plenty of land around. Or if not, stop letting people who don't work in that yard park there. Also probably 1/4 of the vehicles parked there are work trucks, most of which move once every few weeks if even.

Idk, I fucking work at a ski resort. I'm gonna ride. Bitches already blacked us out till more terrain opened when both my departments, snowmaking and grooming, are the ones opening new terrain.

Hoping to be able to hang around for another season maybe 2 but we'll see. Have job options at less stressful mountains for more money. Also have a job option in Europe for a solid company I'm def gonna take eventually. Visa took too long in 2016 and last year I decided to commit to a job in the states instead of dealing with the hassle.

Mostly shop employees that apparently don't have enough shit to fix to occupy their time. Or are just neglecting shit, to walk around and find other people they can fuck with to seem important.

If you didn't get towed it still sounds like you got away with it. F that. Seems like you should keep parking there if you just get yelled at. Yeah. Idk though People are making big deals over the dumbest shit. We run a couple utvs. They're governed to like 0 if the seatbelt isn't in. We get out and in a ton and seatbelts make 0 sense. We got in trouble for having them clipped in. It was an email once or twice, then another email with pictures documenting a seatbelt clipped in for evidence. As if this was some crazy case. "On december 7th, at 8:53 am I observed a tracked ranger with a seatbelt clipped in" kind of thing. If our supervisors don't care what the fuck is maintenance doing reporting it. Personally I don't think that roll cage would hold if we too a tumble down a steeper run and I'd rather be able to jump or get ejected.

But yeah, if people are being cunts over a fucking seatbelt, in a department that isn't there's, working overnight crushing snow, because apparently they don't have enough of their own work to do. Idk. I feel like they'll make this into a big issue eventually. For now I'm going to keep doing it. But fuck them, and if they ever touch my car, I'm out

It's shitty because sometimes things aren't an issue even if they're known about. Once something is documented and emailed through all the chains etc, then sometimes they have to, or are at least more likely to address it.

People need to just do their own fucking jobs and stay out of other peoples business. Too many douchers trying to look important.

GRE and GMAT both suck. Most MBA programs take either now but god damn I feel like I would have done better on the math sections back in highschool. I haven't done half this shit in ages. Only thing I do on a daily basis that shows up is % changes and that's only because of work.

peterkskisI go to my local mountain quite a bit every year and for some reason its 95% snowboarders maybe 5-6 decent skiers that go at least 2-3 times a year. Anyway the best part is theres a small 5 feature lap park with a rope tow the bad thing is that every time im in the line of like three people these bum ass snowboarders hop from side to side and run my tips over at least 50 times a day. This gets super annoying and at some point i'm gonna loose it and it probably wont be pretty. There honestly a bunch of fucks, its not that I actually hate the sport its the just the people that do it at my local hill. I think the next person tho does it i might just jump on the board until the topsheets are ruined. This just really infuriates me for some reason and the skis do take a beating after a while.

If you're willing to pay, Magoosh is a really good tool. Great videos, tons of problems that test the concepts rather than just test-like questions.

If you are planning to/have to take it twice, get Magoosh after you take it the first time as they'll refund you if you don't get a better score 2nd time around.

I was just pissed cause working 12.5 hour days 5 or 6 days a week, the few instances im motivated enough to ride for a couple hours, fuck anyone who messes with that.

It's dumb to mot fix the parking and bitxh about parking there on day off but I get it. If you worked all might, get off around noon, and work at midnight, thats not an off day.

About to bring mine to maybe the local Honda dealer if they're the only ones not "too booked" to diagnose heavy vibration and snapping sounds, sadly the 2 within a mile/being a left turn out of my road are. Need it done asap otherwise no work/not much skiing, and my new work schedule that's lenient toward skiing starts Monday. Fuck cars

The world has gone soft and now fat girls and guys to be fair are considered attractive for the sake of body positivity even though its unhealthy to the point people have complications and end up dying. Is it more fucked up that people encourage this or that people are supposed to feel good about being what they are.

Im trying to get some skis mounted at the shop I work at and someone took our jig and forgot to bring it back apparently. Fucking sucks because I want to get em ready before snow comes but at the same time im not trying to shell out $70 for a mount
