what are some funny ways that you guys have made some $$ before?

here's mine:
a couple years back a few of my friends wanted pocket pussies but couldn't because their parents wouldn't let them. so i bought a couple of them online and sold them to my friends in person at about double the price that i ordered them for. lel

I lived between a golf course hole (with ponds) and the driving range. So when it wasn't busy during the day, we'd collect the balls from the driving range, leaving like 10 in each basket, and we'd go "fishing" for balls in the ponds. When we recovered them, we went to the golf club and sold them their balls back for jacked prices.

In high school some friends and I got really high and thought we could take things that were free of the side of the road, like shitty couches, and sell them to the pawn shop for more weed money. We found a stereo and carried it to the pawn shop. I decided I would negotiate, and when we got there, I forgot how to talk. Someone jumped in for me and the guy working actually fucking bought it. Guy gave us like $15 for the stereo though so we copped another gram.

I saw a show about this on tv! It was legit people's careers. They'd go out at night and collect the balls and they'd make so much money off them. In all honesty is just like picking up cans/ bottles and returning/ recycling them lol

I used to do the same when I was like 7-8, but sell to golfers since my house was on the first tee. They'd over pay for shitty balls and I made sick money for an 8 year old

I found a gumball machine in a bank parking lot, it had a cut power cord, broken top, so many things wrong. Sold it to a guy who traveled through 3 states to buy it for $100.

I used to take old shell casings (9mm, 12ga, and 300 win mag) and convert them into bullet buttons for Xbox controllers.

Over the course of a year I made about $10k - just did it as a hobby my sophomore year of college to make some extra cash, never expected it to get so popular. Literally cost me nothing other than 10 minutes of my time, as I got my brass and hulls from the range or people who didn't reload. Turned around and sold them for $12-$40 depending on what all was included.

I worked at a course throughout high school and they would bring in divers who would scrape the bottom of the ponds for golf balls. Apparently you can make a good chunk of side cash doing that.

This stupid rich kid in my class asked me to write his 4 pages essay that was due the next morning for 25€, told him I would for 50€. Typed the prompt on google, copy pasted, printed it and gave it to him the next day. I made 50€ and he got completely fucked by the teacher who realised that it was copy pasted. convinced him that saying he paid me would only make it worse for him. Such a win.

"you know what I'll do your homework, but i bet you £5 you don't even pay me"
I sat there for a second just taking in what he'd said, waiting for him to realise how stupid that bet was, how it was a win win for me. But the lightbulb didn't ping in his head so i accepted the bet and shook his hand.
Needless to say the next day he gave me my homework, I paid him, reminded him of his bet, and he paid me back.
Felt bad so bought him lunch

one time in university i was selling a mobile in dash dvd player out of my car. i think i was selling it for like $300 or whatever. i was willing to sell at $250.

this guy contacts me and i go to meet up with him. he doesn't say anything about the price so i just assumed he was comfortable paying what i was asking for it.

when i get there he says "broo, im like $50 short".
i kinda made a big deal about it and was expecting to get into a bartering match.
he says here, gives me $250 cash, and says take these, and hands me a box full of sleeves of Viagra.
he explains there are 200 pills in there and said i would easily sell them for $1-2 a piece, he goes on to explain that if i REALLY try i could prob get $5-10.

i laughed, took the cash and pills, and left.

when i got back to residence i was telling a few of the boys about what happened, i guess the story got around quick, and i ended up selling all of them for $400 at one go to some friends of a friends room mate, whatever.

and that was pretty much the easiest money i have ever made.

A couple friends and I found an empty lot of grass by a warehouse in albany ny. It's a block away from the Biergarten - a popular bar that hosts a huge fuckin rowdy crowd for US games during the world cup. We sell parking for $5 in the lot and if we pack the rows in tight, we end up parking over 100 cars. First US game we made $560 total and the one yesterday made us a little under 600. Easy money

One time I bought a gold ring for 50 cents at a thrift store, and sold it at a precious metals store the same day for $40.


Did the same thing with silver coins one time. Except I bought them for about $15-20 and sold them for like $120.
