tomPietrowskiIt won't just depend brand to brand but also ski to ski from one brand. So you can't just say brand "x" run long or brand "y" run short. Best way is to go to your local shop and actually compare skis. Obviously the best way is to demo as well because seeing a size of a ski is one thing but you need to ski it to really know what size it will ski.
cjakillayou do realize that 5cm in little over 1.8in right! but that inch and a half can make a huge difference
TwigThis is a pretty useless thread unless you specify which skis you are looking at. There are thousands of ski models out there and since within a brand there is variation in how long/short skis run. You are very unlikely to get a relevant answer.
For example: Line Sir Francis Bacons run short, but Traveling Circus run long.
Grizzly.ButtahBasically I just wanna know what companies sizes are actually smaller or bigger?
MinggThey aren't necessarily bigger or smaller. It's just the way the camber/ rocker makes them feel, right?
My understanding of it was a 180cm ski is 180cm. The rocker/ camber just made them ride/ feel slightly shorter. I'm interested to know how that actually works cause I'm probably wrong haha
Grizzly.ButtahYeah I understand that..I was too broad in my thread...really I'm looking at 4frnt YLE and ON3P jmos.
TwigI believe ON3P run exactly to size - so a 176 is 176cm tip to tail with a straight tape. Can't tell you about 4frnt though, sorry.
tomPietrowskiBut remember that most other brands that call a ski 176 will use a slightly smaller measurement generally then on3p so if you are comparing sizes in a shop the on3p will be slightly bigger then other 176 skis

immasNote, it is a running length of the ski, not how ON3P is measured.
Grizzly.ButtahYeah that's true..I hope I didn't sound like a idiot haha..I was just wandering if some skis were like a lot bigger than said..
immasNo it's okay! You may get differences in length vs "actual length" depending on how it's measured. Totally an understandable question.
