Replying to Hay fever

Was just wondering if there were any newschoolers out there that suffered bad hay fever, and what do you do to treat it?
For the last 3-4 years I've been getting hay fever for about 3 weeks each summer and it's a pain in the arse. Constant runny nose during the day, then come night feels like some b*stard has injected epoxy resin up each nostril. If someone asked me if I'd rather get toe poked in the balls once daily for 3 weeks, or get hay fever, I'd take the nut shots every time!

I've tried over the counter drugs but haven't had any success so far, however my mum keeps bees and has been making honey this year, so when I visit her I get a jar and eat some every day so I hope it might help, something to do with local pollen in the honey.
What are your home remedies? Do you find drugs work? or do you tickle under chin with a buttercup and say three Hail Mary's. Any suggestions you have I'm interested to hear.
