So repetitive. Give any decent rider 5 minutes on a ski built like that, and they'd be doing backflips. It's boring as shit to watch, as theeir bag of tricks are very limited. Although, I did see the first ever double backflip landed in competition last month, which was pretty sweet. I'd vote no on making it an X-Games sport until the sport gets a little more established and has competitors able to do more than a few different tricks.

I can agree with that. I've never heard of anything like this till today so I didn't realize there wasn't a lot of tricks they could do so that's a good point.

If and when the sport becomes more developed I think it would be cool to have like a best trick comp like they do with snowmobiling and motoX. Like I said in the OP I think it could potentially be cool one day. Maybe not in the X-Games, but I think the sport definitely could become big.

Well it wpuld be cool I guess but they would have to have a deep enough and big enough body of water to do it on. I still like watching mtb the most in the summer xgames.

That's a cool idea. Surf conditions would definitely make for an awesome freestlye show. Flatwater is pretty boring to watch, IMO. The current system is a 2 minute routine, much like slopestyle in skiing, where the final score is determined by adding the three judges scores on a 0.0-10.0 scale.

The sport (racing & freestyle) was huge in the 80's and 90's and dropped off substantially in the early 2000's. There used to be ESPN coverage on the sport with tens of thousands of people showing up to the events to watch. Now, only a few hundred watch each event, and usually it's because they're already lounging on the beach and happen to go over and check it out. We're working on getting the sport back on track in terms of popularity, and it's sure gonna help that this video went viral on facebook.

This would be more difficult than that so I would be open to it.

Bring back wakeboarding. THat sport got pretty wild. Some of the jibs these days are pretty snazzy.

I'm used to be a professional at that game and a few other 64 games. It's all about the side roll first on the doubles. Man I miss that game. Maybe I'll hook my 64 up again and see how horrible I am.
