Full Tilt Konflict as Park Boot

Hey guys, I'm currently searching for a new pair of boots.
I fucked up my SPK Pro's this season.
The thing I was wondering is, if the FT Konflicts are to stiff/hard to be used as a park boot.
DropKicks are not an option, they don't fit me very good.

if a dropkick doesn't fit then the konflict won't fit either. both are based on the FTO shell so they fit exactly the same.

thought of the booter while writing, that's the wider one!

anyway. you know sth bout the Konflict?

yes, i would not get konflicts because they are way to stiff for the park. konflicts in the park = MAJOR SHINBANG

not necessarily
get fitted for sure, depending on how much he weighs the flex may not be an issue. personally i ski a 130 flex boot (Dalbello Il Moro) in the park. i like it stiff and responsive.

the SPK pro I ride has a 100flex, the konflict an 80.
I like it pretty stiff as well.

I wouldn't say I spend a ton of time in the park, but I own a pair of Konflicts and have never had any issues taking them through the park. I mainly hit cliffs and other natural features and they work wonderfully for that so I don't see any reason you couldn't use them in the park despite the fact they aren't a park boot. The only time I've gotten shin bang in them is never.

FT runs very narrow, so keep that in mind. For me it works because I have narrow feet, but steer clear if you don't because for someone with narrow feet the tow box is still tight. I would attribute the fact that I've never gotten bad shin bang to the fact that I got fitted and tried many options in doing so. The Konflicts happened to fit best.

Don't just look at Full Tilt's. Look at a range of other boots and brands. If your SPK's fit well why not looking at getting a new pair of them? But look at a lot of other boots and just try everything. You also don't necessarily need a park boot, rather buy a good fitting all mountain boot that a poorly fitting park boot. Go to a boot fitter and get properly fitted with custom footbeds and any other work needed.

As for flex of the Konflict it uses an 8 Flex tongue which is roughly 125 to 130 traditional flex. Whether or not this is to much for you depends on multiple things such as ability, ankle flexibilty, weight and height.

If you're light and you just like crusing, hitting rails and small-medium jumps and maybe the occasional big jump then the 8 flex tongue will be way to much stiffness for you and you don't need it.

If you're heavy/big/fat or you ski super harder and go huge on everything then 8 flex tongue will be fine. Like if you are constantly taking shit to the thug zone and hitting the biggest jumps in the park a lot then you'll probably like the stiffness of an 8 flex.

full tilt 8 flex =/= 80 on a normal scale, but i ride 8 flex in my dropkicks for park and i like this tongue way more than the stock 4 flex.

I ride konflicts in the park. Seemed a little stiff at first, but you get used to. I also just bought tongues that are a flex 6 I believe and they feel not too stiff or too soft

I don't weigh that much.
What I don't like is that the SPKs are so heavy compared to other boots. That's the main reason why I want to get rid of them and because mine are about to brake.

i have konflicts for park. got a softer tongue tho. i have liked 4 flexes on my 26.5s, but i have also liked a short 6 tongue from one of the small sizes of the boots. they are meant for a narrower foot.

The new SPK's aren't that heavy (I don't know about older ones), I see quite a few small lightweight people riding this years SPK 100's, best way to tell whether or not you think they're to heavy is just to go try them.

I don't have a wide foot, only a bit higher (no idea what that bone is called) than the average
tried on some BnE's last week and felt quite comfy, liked the light weight of them, but damn they're ugly as fuck

Basically full tilt only have 3 boots. The new Seth and wallisch, is one then the band e and konflict ect are one, then there is the wider shell the booter. So not many options. They are all a mid width at between 99-101mm depending if you fall in the lower end of the size or the top. That I the other strange thing te sizing. They use 8mm gaps rather then 10 mm gaps like everyone else so you often en up in a diggernt shell size then normal hence why it is 99-101mm.

So this hopefully shows you how important it I to get fitted. Go to a goo fitter and do not even suggest boots you have looked at let him select the best boots. Then if you really want to try something he ha not recommended you coul ask to but remember there will be a reason try do not recommend them.

Get custom footbeds fitted too. They are the most important part. Do not skimp out here.

An as for weight it really does not matter. The only time you will feel it is walking around. You will tell no difference when skiing.

Well if that is what they sell that is what you should get. Carver boots as yo put it will be fine for park and so long as they fit well they will probably ski better then a full tilt.

You need to be fitted so go try on boots with your local fitters and get some ideas of what size you need and what shape will work. A good fitter will tell you if a certain boot will fit even if they don't sell them. You could always go get fitted an if they recommend a boot they don't sell you could buy it online an then take it back for fitting. But they will cost a lot more doing it that way and you won't get a fit garentee. So really you are best buying a boot try have in the shop.

FYI an 8 flex tongue is about a 120 flex. Also, drop kicks come with #6

yeah, i had the yellow ones from 2012, im pretty sure they were #4 that first year

That's right my bad the yellow ones were #4 which is about 80 flex. Of course there's not really any flex index it's all just ball park any way
