There are exceptions to this, but in the last few years ski videos have had really shitty soundtracks.
Level 1 had super soundtracks back in the day with high five shanghai six lss and realtime and to some extent turbo, but since then its really gone downhill in my opinion.
When l1p came out with eyetrip their movie was completely outdone by the video in the bonus section, jiberishes "right back where we started" because of its awesome snowboard videoesque soundtrack.
For those who havent seen it https://vimeo.com/m/14328629
I dont really understand why ski videos have stopped emulating snowboard videos soundtrack wise. When i watch a ski video i want to hear something new and fresh, not something i heard a 16 year old girl blasting on her car stereo.
A good example of great soundtrack ski films are teddybear crisis (of course), stepts how we livin, and get lucky. All of these are chocked full of songs that would make a teenage trend whore vomit, which is why i love them.
As far as emulating snowboard videos, skiing can only hope to be as cool as snowboarding. Trying to outdo snowboard videos with decidedly unfresh soundtracks is silly. If ski vids were as cool as snowboard vids, id be more than content.
Heres a short snowboard vid that will put you on track to what im talking about http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GsW1Nu8q0KI&feature=kp
also horgasm a love story has some unbelievably good songs from savant http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=U6lpBi39N78
i realize henrik is cool, but the whole wigger scene seen in skiing but not in snowboarding just makes us look like a bunch of fucking idiots frankly.
People should chose music for how it sounds, not its fucking street cred.
Or do you all agree with dumont?
