Cliff jumping near mt hood

Theres a bridge over hood river near the columbia river thats a good spot

There's a little cove with a nice sandy beach that is protected from the wind. Immediately to the right (east) is a cliff you can jump off. When you land in the water, the river current carries you back to the cove so you don't have to swim. It's not a crazy huge cliff but together with the beach it's a nice spot to hang out for a couple hours. It's also super private.

I always got there by going through the memaloose campground and crossing the train tracks, but my friend tried to go last year and told me they fenced off the train tracks (someone got killed or something) so you might need to find another way in.

There used to be a very hoppable old barbed wire fence there. I didn't make it out last summer but apparently they replaced the fence and made it way bigger, and my friend said he got hassled by the state park people for going through the campground.

It sounds like the fence is mostly to keep campground kids off the tracks, so I think if you were to stay away from the campground and instead head down to the train tracks a few hundred yards east or west of there, you might get by the end of the new fence and avoid the park people. That's just a guess though...

I remember from last year there was a place MHSSC took us that was like an hour away from the camp. It was a decent sized drop into a river that washed off from the mountain. It was cold as fuck haha. I cant remember where it was but i'm sure someone will

Just do us all a favor and take a detour to the grand canyon. There are unreal cliff jumping spots there
