When I was little I fell down on my face in the powder and froze my ass off and I've been in love with it ever since.
Friends, adventure, relaxation, isolation in nature, but mostly just passion. One of those elements of life I can't go without. If I'm not at a mountain I'm probably thinking about it. Addicted as fuck
There's no comparison.. at least that I've found. I grew up living/breathing baseball but that career is long gone so I had to find something that could replace it. Skiing will last forev.. as long as my knee lasts**. Skiing is the best outlet on life that I've ever had. Sucks that I live in the midwest and can only go about 4 months of the year haha
Do you know? The fact that you've made this thread tells me you probably don't yet. But it's okay. You'll get there. Everyone always tries to answer this question at the beginning. Then they realize that this is a question whose answer cannot be stated. It can only be known.
Best feelings. Driving up to the mountain, meeting up with friends, gearing up, getting stoked (and maybe high), taking that first run. I miss it more and more every day
same reason why I bike in the summer, friends, excitement, adventure, exercise, and the lift. I doubt I would ski or bike near as much as I do if it weren't for lifts.
Because the feeling of stomping a trick on a big jump is better or equal to that of ejaculation, don't have to worry about shit outside of skiing and finally because it feels great to eat shit into powder.
I've gotten to that one point in my life where I realize I'm really free. I'm on my own and my life is up to myself. The feeling of being on the slopes without limits other than my own body really lets me just express that. I love that feeling of speed and freedom. This is why I ski.
