How big does a park ski need to be in comparison to height? And if your skis are bigger are they harder to throw around on rails?

You need really big skis for rails to be able to maintain more balance à la Tony Hawk Pro Skater.

The size of the ski will be determined by a few factors including stiffness, camber/rocker profile, rider weight and rider ability and strength. So there is no "right" height. In general I prefer slightly shorter skis for rails compared to skis for jumps but again it's personal preference. I am 5'11 and 175lbs and ride anything from 176 -186 in the park depending on the ski. So if you are not sure what size you want, demo. Not enough people demo skis, it's the only real way to know what you are getting and is something I really urge every skier to do when buying skis.
