Camera suggestions for big lens on small body

Hi, can anyone please suggest a camera with a large lens but on a small body.

I have an Olympus Tough, which I like except the images all come out fish-eyed due to the small diameter lens. I then need to adjust each image with software to unwarp them.



I like it because it fits in my pocket and I don't have to worry about it being knocked around.

There is an upgraded model (tg-2 and tg-3) that can be fitted with a bigger lens, but I am wondering if there are other cameras worth looking into (small + large lens + rugged)

Ideally the large lens would be integral to the camera, rather than be detachable, in order to be stronger and more streamlined with the body.

Im a bit confused about what you are asking for.

Both of the cameras that you listed are supposed to have less of that "fish-eye"-look, or barrel distortion that is the correct term, than the camera that you currently own.

The extra lenses that you can fit on the tg2 and tg3 are wide-angle converters (makes your image wider, but adds more barrel distortion) or a teleconverter(gives the camera to zoom more).

Maybe a mirrorless camera of sorts? Most are pretty small and you can adapt most lenses to them. Check out like a sony NEX mirrorless cam

I just wonder if it can be fitted with a smaller lens.

I like cameras that are not all black, because I think it disarms people a bit.

Nice, thanks. The camera is supposedly very heavy. The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 III just came out in the last few weeks, and also looks good. Not waterproof, but has other good features including full HD video and compactable lens. They are both about $800.

Canon EOS M.
It's basically a Canon Rebel in a pocket size body. Attaching EF lenses only costs $60 for the (third party but functional) converter but you can get an 18-55mm and a pancake 22mm for it.

Good tip. The EOS M2 (left) should be out in the coming months and is 10% lighter. Funny, they announced it in Dec '13 and it may take a full year to arrive. (I can relate to that)

Great camera. I like that it has no optical zoom and the lens is fixed in place. The Ferrari F-40 of cameras, with a price to match ($2800.) I wonder when the new model comes out

The RX1r has been out for almost a year now, but in almost every respect these cameras are identical, except for a red "r" on the front panel next and the fact that the Rx1R doesn't have an anti-aliasing filter.

Basically what Nikon did with the D800 and D800E.

Lowest RX1 on eBay boxed currently goes for 1800, a bargain really for that lens and sensor mated together.
