iH8powHow come good mtn bikers seem to take so many breaks? Like with skiing, the better you are, the more effortless a top-bottom is in record time. But it seems the fastest bikers are always taking breaks, it’s like they want you to pass them so they can ride your ass over and over. I’m fat and just this week started doing full top-bottom runs, did wonders, I’m like the fastest biker on the mountain except I’m definitely not. But I’m claiming first to bottom yesterday in Vail

my friends are drama spazzes idk how they always find confrontation on the mtn but guess someone chased down, yelled at one of us for going ahead of a group of people who “looked like better bikers”??? If I come rolling up on you on the mountain and you’re taking a break why would I assume you’re faster? Give your fuckin balls a tug. I caught you,,, just annoying cuz obviously trails are narrow

ASSholebomber22Anyone have any real luck with baconstrips? Used some the first time and they didn't seal for shit and had to use a tube but idk if the puncture was too big or if the guy I bummed them from was just a muppet who didn't stick em in right.

vermontanaLocal cycling club is finishing up a brand new bike park right behind my house. Started looking around on PB and found this bad boy for a steal. So stoked to add a DJ to the quiver.

foolmetwiceJust signed up for my first race. Its a 40 mile xc race on mostly fire roads/xc ski trails. Only thing is I’ve never ridden clipped pedals. Would it be crazy to do an endurance race like this on flats?

partyandBSnever gone clips but how are they no more efficient? you get to use more leg muscles and you are able to send some rowdier stuff with out getting bucked off the pedals.

vermontanaFrom what I understand, some studies claim at a purely power output perspective they are equal due to the amount of energy you expend moving the cranks. That's a limited view of it though, and you can def make the argument clips are more efficient on rough tracks because you don't need to worry about being tossed off. I use both, flats for my fun bikes and clips for my enduro race rig. Switching between helps unlearn the bad habits that clips can instill for jumping/hopping the bike.

.nastyThe whole bad habit argument with flats/clips is hogwash. I used to think the same thing when I used to be an avid flat rider, but if you can use the clips to help maneuver the bike one way or another, then why wouldn't you? In the end, you can either do it right or not.

littleman34Biked the Revy bike park for the first time today, first resort ever and all. Trails were sick as hell managed to send some decent jump lines and shit. But my bike took a beating, back tire is deflating and leaking sealant. And the derailer was some cheap plastic one the Sram SX, it fucking shook to garbage. Parks are sick though

saskskierRevy is so sick, but it's massive and will beat you and your bike up, especially because the trail network on the hill is still growing. If you get a chance, there is so much stuff to ride outside the park too. Boulder mountain, Frisby Ridge, Martha Creek, etc.

Rode Sun Peaks last weekend and was blown away by how good it is. Tons of varied terrain, a lift that runs into the evening and no lines. Then spent a week in Squamish and that's just an entirely different level of riding. Definitely going to be an annual trip.

so looks like you are too much over the bars. squatting down and over the rear will make it easier to pivot on that rear tire. with a cassette you can use forward pressure as well. once you turn to like 40-45 degrees then you wanna
snap the other direction with the bars and use the forward pressure.

also will be good to just practice riding backwards. you dont really want any lean. body nor bike. most the steering comes from subtle movements in the bars. again wanna be pretty centered or slightly over the rear tire.

last, might be easier to practice popping out of fakie on a slight slope off of a curb or wall as opposed to airing out of the bowl. then bring it to the bowl and boom you’ll get mad bitches (or whatever your into. dont cancel me)
