I know there are more brown pow lovers on this site, yah there is pinkbike but lets be honest, newshcoolers is wayyyy cooler. so lets posts our rides, questions about components, mechanic questions etc in this thread.

I just bought this beauty and i definitely sacrificed uphill capabiltiy in order to get a beefier dh/park bike. id been on a nomad for a while and it's a huge switch in riding styles for me. definitely getting used to the weight and having to keep speed a lot more.

specs for said beauty, 2011 rc2 dh totem, 2012 dhx rc4, highrollers front and back (gona go dhf front and highroller in the back), mtx 33 wheel set, slx brakes, diablous cranks, FSA 760mm Handlebar, Shimano SLX Shifter & Shimano Deore XT Derailleur.

After far too long, work on the rebuild of the Bozeman dirt jumps is beginning. On Friday went and to go do some volunteer work pulling weeds and picking up trash, but it ended up being like 30 minutes of pulling weeds and then drank beer and ate pizza with the dudes from Integrated Trail Labs and SWMMBA. They've got a couple of massive excavators and a big ol rock screener so babyhead rocks in the lips and landings will no longer be a concern.

Won't have jumps until next summer but very stoked for some progress.

.squirrely.I'm going to be there later this week what should i ride? i like tech but not crazy tech, raw handcut stuff, soft dirt in the trees, basically anything but dry and loose. Think i'm going to do wheeler- miner's creek one day for a big scenic ride but then also looks like there's a whole bunch of good stuff on the east side of town too


Im not your guy to ask then lol. I rock a single speed slope bike so i mainly hit b-line (park at carter park. Go up moonstone trail. Barney flow is up there too)

but no matter the bike i would highly recommend Sidedoor. You can shuttle it but the drive is as long as it takes me to literally walk my bike up lol. Easiest ascent is from Minnie Mine trail head. Follow the trail straight until you hit backdoor. Ride that up to the road and go right to the top of sidedoor. Just rebuilt top to bottom. Running super fast and smooth.

the ski resort is closed but you can bike up the mountain to hit them if you choose. Gotta tell ya though, brecks resort trails are pretty weak. Not much flow. Straight lines into bermless corners.

It does beg the question of why the fuck do you even get on here?? Lol. Never a positive thing said. No one values your contributions on here so what the fuck is in it for you?? also i dont think people get as triggered as you think they do haha. Could be wrong but it seems like people respond to you and move on where as you are always coming back again and again.

I enjoyed bakers tank + aspen alley downhill or something the one time I was up there. But admittedly extremely limited experience in breck so prolly not even worth posting. Was pretty like chill intermediate

Yesterday i went for a ride and dropped
my key fob. I went back up and looked for it and couldnt find it. When i got back to my car it was on the dash! It was probably one of the people i passed and told them i was looking for my key and they were a good person. Super grateful for whoever found it and returned it!!

It’s kinda hard to describe but I kinda pump into the lip then let the bike come up into me. Turn your handlebars to lay it over. Works for me, but speed is key.

u gotta turn your front tire down whichever way is easier for you as you go off the lip and almost loose traction on the front. i am by no means amazing at scrubbing but thats what i do and it seems to work. leave the jump with your bike on an angle sorta and absorb it a little and gotta have lots of speed

Just pre-load and pop the lip before normal take off and get your shit outta the way so you don't pop your ass end like an idiot. It has nothing to do with your front wheel losing traction so this fucking moron doesn't know what he's doing.

finally got around to setting my bike up tubeless, that was a million times easier than i was expecting.

also i thought sealant would smell good for some reason but that stuff smells disgusting

Snowshoe world cup was dope. Huge crowd kept the stoke high all day and the finish to the men’s race was absolutely wild with loris crashing followed by brunis flawless run to take the overall

There are a lot of variants of that design out there right now. I've used Recon racks, NS racks, as well as the Yakima branded ones. All have their strengths and weaknesses, so it really depends on how you want to use it. The NS rack is the least refined feeling rack to use that I've found, it's harder to load and unload, and is more likely to rub than the other racks I've used. The Yakima one is nice, but has too much play/flex in the main pivot for me to feel great about going fast with 6 bikes on it. Recon racks aren't as secure in my experience, I've watched too many bikes fall out of them. If money was no object, I'd want one of these:https://www.instagram.com/hawkscustomfab/?hl=en

I've been intrigued by the Lolo racks as well, it's a different take on the hanging racks. Lolo racks work with rigid forks, drop bar bikes, and fat bikes, which not all of the other vertical racks do, so it's hypothetically more versatile.

Whatever you do, I recommend you just use ski straps to lock down the fork and back tire. The proprietary straps found on most racks are clunkier, lest secure, less durable, and harder to use.

Stoked on that for you! I learned last winter and its a fantastic skill to have. Before I learned, I had the same thought about how sick a hanging rack would be, but just ended up doing some rehab/customization on my tray rack. Things to think about are how heavy the vertical rack is going to end up being(taking on/off the vehicle), and if you want to make a hinge at the base to tilt it out of the way to open a trunk/hatch.
