Mounting position relative to a ski's flex pattern

Does mounting away from the recommended really affect the skis natural flex pattern? I always mount mine between dead center and 1.5 cm back from dead center and was wondering if there is a significant difference in how the ski behaves in terms of flex...
Thanks all

The constructed flex of the ski will always be best when mounted at recommended, that's why it's recommended. However, a ski can break into a different flex pattern based on where it's mounted. So basically, if you buy a super soft ski that isn't recommended to be mounted at dead center (al dente for example) you'll get the most flex out of it when it's mounted at recommended because you'll have the constructed flex and the break in flex point be the same point. That being said, there are other advantages to mounting away from recommended, so you basically have to weigh those options. To me, a ski can break in it's flex plenty even when not mounted at recommended...but I hate noodles, so there's that. It's really just personal preference.
