So 2 months ago I broke both bones in my arm and dislocated my wrist. The hospital failed to spot this on an xray and said I could ski again within a week as I had probably just strained a muscle. Fast forward 2 months and I've had surgery as the bones were healing when they were totally misaligned, they've been plated and I'm a few weeks away from being able to do sports again.
However, someone told me that if you re-break a bone which has been plated then it will be far more complicated than a normal break and recovery might not be as succesful. Does anyone know if this is true and if its worth having surgery again to get the plates out?
Thanks

I recromend doing what I did, I call it the blind shoot. I shattered my tibula and my fibula so my windells experience is ruined. What happnened is that they had to put me under Anastasia to try and put a cast on, if they couldn't get the cast on, they would put a rod and 4 screws in. It really made me confident rolling into the OR. I ended up getting 4 screws and a rod but it was really worth it because I'm not in pain anymore.
