So if a set of identical twin girls and a set of identical twin boys marry and have kids, would they be genetically closer than cousins?

Very similar genetically. Assuming no genetic mutations would result in identical homologous chromosomes. After crossing over I'm not exactly sure if they'd still be identical. But at the very least they'd be really similar.

They will be genetically as close as brothers, which is to say variable. Brothers have a chance to share between 0 and 100 percent of their dna. Independent assortment i think its called i forget.
For example, you could end up with your dads moms chromosomes and your moms dads chromosomes and your brother could have your dads dads chromosomes and your moms moms chromosomes. But since you are brothers you would both have the same y chromosome. Or you could be identical, even tho not twins.
Of my brothers im more similar to one of them thsn i am to the others. Luck of the draw

brothers, by definition, will share a Y chromosome. Also any siblings will share identical mitochondrial DNA. So barring any mutations it's impossible for siblings to not share at least some DNA.

they would genetically be siblings. in the truest sense of the term identical twins have the exact same genetic coding. so while in reality two sets of people are getting married, genetically its just one pair of people getting married. so kids from each pairing would technically be from the same set of dna as kids from the other family. making them siblings.

in the real world though, even "identical" twins aren't 100% identical so the kids wouldn't be siblings in real life (i'm assuming), but they would indeed be more genetically similar than most if not all cousins

the article says that the 2 sets of twins, call the men B1 and B2, married the girls G1 and G2. B1 with G1, and B2 with G2.
then each couple had a kid, and the kids were identical.
