Is it worth getting new bindings?

I just got myself a pair of ON3P Filthy Riches, but I'm wondering if I should mount my old bindings on them, or if I should get new ones. The old bindings are some Marker Griffon 13s. They are in alright shape, but they're not the best bindings ever… I usually ride with the DIN on 11-12. So yeah, should I get new ones?

how many days have you put on them..

as a ski tech, it is important to properly maintain bindings to keep everything within spec. I.e if you store your bindings over the summer at a 12 din that fall that 12 din will no longer be a 12 but an or 11 or so.

All personal preference, but for me every two seasons for non metal bindings which I generally put on my park skis for lightness. However I still have a pair of p18s from 2005 that I have tested and they still test as good as the day I got em, so each binding is a little different.

all that being said the new tyrolia line the attack, is an awesome upgrade on a already solid binding design, definitely worth a check out.

personally I think of it this way. you just spend quite some cash on a great pair of skis that will last you a long time, so why throw some cheap, plastic markers on them? you might as well get some durable bindings that will stay intact throughout the skis life

i would say look around and get some new bindings. theres no sense in throwing something on your nice on3ps that will break, and then you have to remount anyways. (this leaves holes in your topsheet which just bugs me when i look at skis) so just keep an eye out for a good deal and get some new bindings. i just picked up some new fks 140s for $200 hehehe. goodluck man

If you actually ride at 11 or 12 you should get new bindings no matter what skis. It's not good to max out the binding springs, and you're quite close to doing that.

That being said, the flex of the Filthy Rich (in my experience) truly shines when mounted with FKS bindings. The smaller heel length allows for a more natural flex in the tails. It's one of the reasons you see most people with ON3Ps on FKS bindings...that and why put a cheap binding on such a nice ski. So for those skis, and your DIN range, I'd recommend some Look Pivot or Rossignol FKS 14s, or even better, go all metal with the 18s.

If you've got no problems, ski them until they break. If they do break, throw some Griffons in the same holes.

This is exactly what I would do. No point spending more money untill you have to.

Do you think Jesters are a good buy? I think I'm going to buy some new bindings, but not really sure what to buy…

And I'm just wondering if you can adjust the Rossi FKS/Look Pivots to fit with larger/smaller boots, like you can on the Markers. Does anyone know?

They can adjust, just not that much. It's about 10mm total adjustment, it depends on how they are mounted, but usually it's 5mm in and 5mm out.

Yeah just to confirm what bwalmer said the jesters will have much more adjustment then the fks. The fks has the least adjustment on the market where as the marker royals along with the sth2 have the most.

Remember though a griffon is the same hole patern as a jester so you could ride the griffon untill they break or you want to replace them and you could just mount the jester in the same holes as boax said.

Just to add. I would not rule out te fks because of the lack of adjustment. They are still good bindings and a remount is not te end of the world. Sometimes infact a remount may be better then riding them at te extremes of the track. So yeah just somthing else to consider.
