Mike Hornbeck has been on the armada team for 5 years. He has been quoted saying, "this [Halo 2's] is pretty much my favorite ski armada makes," and he rides the Halo 2's exclusively. Not sure if the Halo 2's were unofficially his or bdogs pro model ski though. Then again, b-dog started riding the al dentes a lot after they came out. Main point-- Hornbeck loves the Halo 2's.

2015, armada is releasing a new ski, the "b-dog" --phil casabon's pro model ski, which is basically the Halo 2's but slightly different design; probably more buttery, as requested by b-dog. The sad thing is that now Hornbeck wont be riding the Halo 2's (his unofficial pro model) anymore, he'll probably be riding the b-dogs because those are basically the "Halo 3's". ...unless armada is going to continue to produce the Halo 2's but im pretty sure they wont. Seems like Hornbeck got ripped off because his unofficial pro model became b-dog's.

Thoughts on Hornbecks situation? Thoughts on pros riding other pros "pro model skis"?

hornbeck will be recieving the same skis he always has been. hes not on no middle of the mall skis

the good news is... the b-dog seems to be a nice ski, I rode it for a day and it struck a good balance between the alpha's and the old Halo. I wish they hadn't widened it.

The am/pro team for Armada doesn't mean shit. It's basically who's been on the team for the longest.

I'd be willing to bet that Hornbeck doesn't give two shits what the name of the ski is, as long as he's still skiing he's having a good time.

It's all marketing anyways, Armada is putting BDogs name on it because they know that they'll sell way more of them because there are a bunch of kids that get whatever gear they see on the B&E show, and pretty much want to be those two. Case in point, before the specs of the Al Dente even came out kids were saying they were going to get them simply because they were Henrik's pro model...

this guy knows what's up! I'd be surprised if it came out that B-dog even helped with the design on the ski. It appears to have a little more taper in the tip and tail and I think it's about half a point softer than the halo 2 but ehh

Well hornbeck was riding the al dente this spring because he wanted a softer ski, and the al dente is the softest park ski that armada offers. The halo 2 was the softest in the past, which is probably why he used it

I just saw hornbeck at hood and he was riding nexts years al dentes, i dont see why you guys even give two fucks, not to mention he has said his ski of choice was actually the el rey. someone is going to ride whatever ski they please, he's like the fucking godfather and armada knows that too.

Just because its someones "pro model" doesn't mean other people on the same team aren't gonna ride that ski. Like Henrik rides the Magic Js and Mike rides pretty much any ski, Ive seen him ride JJs, Halos, Alphas and El Reys. They ride whatever ski is best for that day and condition so yes I am sure Mike will still ride the B-Dogs because he likes that ski. Just think about this, if skis didn't have graphics you wouldn't have made this thread, you're basically saying he won't ride it because the ski says B-Dog, what if it was still called that but had no graphic would you still have made this thread? Probably not. Get over the graphics kids and find the ski you like the way it skis not how it looks!!

The B-Dog is barely a pro model. Phil didn't even ski the Halo 2 much at all until they put his name on it. His preferred ski of choice is the Al dente, but now that armada gave him the Halo 2, he's skiing that.

Horbeck is the true master.. I think I am going to watch push to shove 100 times this summer at Hood and just try to learn to ski rails like them.

The Halo line was developed for urban city comps that required quick stopping, starting, speed changes and low swing weight. Those comps have pretty much died off the last few years, so the Halo/Alpha line is changing.
