Why in Gods name does body wash have pebbles in it?

Got light up playing rugby on turf. Turf burns every where. Tried cleaning them out in the shower with body wash and didn't realize that it had little pebble-like things in it. Now contemplating amputation of anything lower than the thighs. Why the FUCK does body wash have these pebbles from hell in it?
