Wondering who here likes to ride motorcycles. I just bought myself a Honda XR650l and haven't had this much fun since my first day on snow. Post in this thread as long as you don't ride a Harley (ha ha).

erikKjust passed my final stupid test this morning, thank god because my license expires tomorrow and i would've had to restart the whole process. dad's got an 03 klr650 that he hasn't used in forever so i've pretty much got free reign on it. can't wait to go on some adventures, thing is perfect for exploring.
once i'm out of school i want to get a drz400, i find the klr650 a little more street oriented than what i'd like.
pat_in_the_hatwhats wrong with a harley?
theabortionatorI picked up a harley brochure somewhere that said. "Change your clothes change your life"
Was the best thing ever.

physicistnothing if you like that style of bike and don't mind paying a lot extra for the name. I would never buy one. UJM for daily driver, adventure tourer for travelling, and a motocross bike is my ideal quiver.

vandersteezeLooks like a good time. Do you commute on it or just ride it around for fun? Have you taken it on any road trips?

physicistStill, this is the best $150 i've ever spent.
mskiRecently A buddy of mine who I have been riding with a few times now came to visit and do a 200 mile tour around Northern Utah with a night of camping in between. Needless to say it was hard to wipe the smiles off our faces during the whole trip.
vandersteezeThis so much, I love how motorcyclists wave at each other when you pass them on the road. Even if I am out riding by myself I never feel alone on the road.
Here is a brilliant song

dmskiI ride a Ninja 500 but am looking to upgrade to either a SV650 or CBR 600 F4i or something similar. I ride 50 miles a day in Seattle traffic and though I'll admit it's stupidly dangerous what with idiot drivers and traffic, the joy and relaxation I get from riding is just too much of a deal to pass up. Plus hov lanes is nice. Maybe I'm not hardcore enough but I only ride in the dry since it's not that worth it to get soaked going to work.

VinnieFKeep meaning to get my motorcycle licence but every time I do that I'm reminded of how ridiculous insurance rates are and just can't justify spending $2000 a year just in insurance on a vehicle I can only use half the year. Once I'm over 25 and the rates drop I'll probably go for it though.
twin-tip-heroTo be honest man i have maybe 200 miles on her. I bought her and then I had to move to Korea for a year. But it was one hell of a deal (1500 miles, never been dropped for $4,000) that I had to get her and let her sit for a year. But when I move to florida in October it will be my daily driver. I have some parts waiting to be put on when I get home and i'm looking to put her on the track. I raced my old 05 R6 on the nurburgring in Germany, when i was living there and the bike was fucking amazing!!!! I can only imagine how this beast will do on a track.
nick21861Being only my second season of riding I still have a lot to learn. Any more experienced riders care to share any safety tips you've learned? It would be rad if people helped eachother out. I try to wear neon yellow on days too hot for my jacket
