StoseI feel like the quitting comp news isn't huge, because he definitely haas been slowly moving out of the comp scene. I wonder what the project will be like though. More like candides, or toms? It will be awesome either way
RubberSoulno offense to sammy cause he's super rad, but he has no business doing a documentary, at least not yet
im excited to see what he comes up with, i hope it's a wallish project style thing

Willard"It's a ski flick," says Carlson. "We have certain trips planned. We want to make the epic ski movie. It's not going to be a documentary by any means. The segments will be trip location-based and it'll be filled with friends. We want to take our time, really explore and push the skiing and filming to the max."
outdoortechThis was one of my favorite segments when it came out, looking forward to what Sammy will be working on in the future.
In response to the comp vs. movie debate,
Do I remember his Xgames run from this year? No
Will I always remember him ending a segment with a 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, and 10 or the left 5 at 0:40? Yes

His X games run from 2011 is my favourite comp run in skiing.
outdoortechI'm not trying to say he isn't an amazing competition skier, this contests vs. filming argument is really all relative to what each person sees as the most memorable.
For you that's his 2011 run (which is unreal) that stands out to you, for me his part in Yeah Dude ('07 I think?) is what makes me nostalgia. That's why i'm excited to see him working on his own video project and moving away from contests.
