18-270mm or 18-200mm

I want to get the 18-270mm Tamron becasue the lens I currently use is the Tokina 11-16mm but I've heard mixed reviews about it for filming and to get the Tamron 18-200mm instead. This lens will mainly be used for filming. Thanks

If u have any recommendations of other lenses let me know. my price range is up to $450 but I guess i could go to $500. Thanks

If you're just filming I'd prefer 3 primes over a shitty super zoom. Maybe a 28mm, 50mm, and 135mm. Much much better image quality, focus rings, faster, etc. If you want one lens with a range like 18-200mm youre better off with a real video camera.

What he said. With those super zooms you may have some more convenience but you will seriously lose image quality and speed as compared to buying 3 (relatively) cheap primes, which will blow the super zoom out of the water.

The tamron 28-75 2.8 is a decent mid range lens

it sounds like you want something longer though, the 18-200 will be pretty mediocre, the 18-135 is slightly better but from 17mm to 200mm you probably want two lenses.

well what would you recommend for a lens ranging from 50-150 or 50-200mm??

A canon 70-200 f4 non-is are usually around $400-500.

^and a Canon push-pull 70-210 f4 is about 100-115$ if you're on more of a budget
