Help Needed. T3i - Rokinon 8mm VERY Blurry, not sharp

mikemastersI hope I'm posting this in the right place if not I'm sorry.I recently bought a rokinon 8mm fisheye for my t3i and i'm having unbearable quality, it is blurry and not sharp at all. I know to an extent fisheyes can cause this but i've never seen it this bad. I didn't change any settings but I don't know if I need to.If anyone can shed some light on this problem it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Sklarwhat was your aperture at? and where was your focus?


it is only usable stopped down a couple stops IMO

cydwhitI have that lens, it was decent at lower apertures but put it at f8 and set focus at infinity, if it doesn't produce something sharp I will be surprised.

mikemastersMy focus was around 5 ft for most the shots and aperture was around 6 which is a little low for the light but I've tried tons of tests shots with different apertures and focuses and can't get a clear shot, the shots are always just super grainy and almost unusable.

cydwhitGrainy? is your ISO too high? even at F6 I would put it closer to infinity for focus

mikemastersI'm not sure what my ISO was at im pretty sure it was on auto, i'm also not sure if i'm looking for the right thing, as in if i get close to a subject its usable and in focus to an extent but when I just put it on infinity and try to get a shot from 15 feet away its very blurry.

cydwhitOk, make sure your ISO is 1000 or lower, set that aperture at 8, focus at infinity and pretty much anything should be in focus, most of the photos in my profile were taken with this lens and these settings
