Scariest Experience While Skiing

I got bucked off a mogul while traversing too fast over some decent exposure, between false face and hawaii 5-0 on blackcomb. lost my ski and started to slide down. I still had one ski on so I was able to stop my self pretty quickly. My other ski also eventually stopped a few hundred meters down the hill pretty close to the cliffs. So then I had to make my way down an exposed 45°+ slope with one ski to retrieve the other.

For me, it's gotta be getting a tbi. I've had gnarly crashes, broken a few things, several dislocations, but nothing will ever come close to the fear I had from hitting my head. It took me nearly 8 months to remember things, I had no short term or long term memory after it. I still remember the morning I went up, and some time leading up to it. I actually was too scared to get back on my skis after it happened. We went 11 months after the initial injury and I ended up frozen and crying on a blue square because I was so traumatized.

Sitting on a chair, actually. At my local hill, we have a double chair that runs up a double black bowl that's prone to massive cornices and avalanches due to wind and heavy snowfall. Despite the blasting the lifties do every snow day, this day riding up the chair, a guy up top set off about a 200-foot long fracture right beside the lift line, and all I could do was watch as it roared down the lift towards me. Luckily it died down enough that I only got hit by the snow cloud, but probably the most helpless I've ever felt skiing.
