Well these skis were not designed for park dude. They are designed for all mountain shredding. You can probably take them into the park but again, they were not made for it. And why would you look at 2007's? The technology is so old, get something newer.

To be honest, Its just that I'm getting them for a a good price in my opinion, $250 mounted with Marker griffon bindings.

damn i have always regretted selling my pair. by far my favorite pair of skis, im glad i still have the shirt though. i remember them being wicked soft and playful. they were fun in the park for 180s and butters and such but not really rails of bigger jumps. they were designed as pollards all mountain ski and the elizabeths were the park skis. the bacons really excelled in 6+ inches of pow with plenty of cliffs, rollers, jiblets around. they were a surprisingly versatile ski though.

So Cal, If I've been a downhill skier my whole 7 or 8 years skiing on parabolics, would these skis be a good introduction into a park ski?

no, these bacons are not an ideal park ski, by any definition. if i can remember the dimensions they were 142-115-139(182cm), which is a lot to be throwing around in the park. i also remember this model having a delam issue with the tips/tails because of how soft they were and would slap down on the hard pack upon landing. I never experienced that problem but i saw a couple pairs that did.

Are you looking to get more into park skiing? if you give some more information about yourself (height, weight, ability, do you like stiff or soft skis, etc.) we can surely point you in the direction of a better suited ski for you.

Alright, I'm a 5'11 240lb skier. I have been using these 160cm parabolics since I started skiing and I feel that I'm ready for a new pair that is at least twin tipped and can get an introduction in the park. I ski Michigan where there is a lot of crud.

yeah you definitely need something longer, i wouldnt get anything shorter than a 179 especially if it is a soft ski. are you looking for a one ski quiver or are you or a more park specific ski? i would recommend something similar to the line blends (blends might be too soft for you). or even the newer versions of the bacons, they are a wicked fun ski in the park and all over the mountain.

Well to be honest, I just want to be able to hit the occasional jump but I mainly just want to be able to go backwards and make switches happen. That isn't too much to ask, is it?

GregFlikAlright, I'm a 5'11 240lb skier. I have been using these 160cm parabolics since I started skiing and I feel that I'm ready for a new pair that is at least twin tipped and can get an introduction in the park. I ski Michigan where there is a lot of crud.

There's a bunch of skis that are comparably priced to the SFB's and would work a lot better for you. The SFB's are way to soft for you at your size and aren't going to be a great ski for Michigan. Look for a stiffer twin tip that's between 80- 100 underfoot and at least 180cm.

For example there's a pair of 181cm Atomic Panics on EVO for $270 that would be a lot better for you than the SFB, that was the result of a 30 second search. There're not a full twin but if you're starting in the park they'll work until you get more experienced and will be much better for all mountain than your current skis. Or the Atomic Infamous for $240, which is more park oriented. If you're coming off of 160 cm skis basically anything will be a step up. (Oh and there's no reason to say parabolic, basically all skis are parabolic (shaped) now so no one uses the term.)

haha that is understandable and luckily just about every ski on the market matches your criteria.. my advice would be to search around some online ski shops and snag some skis that are on sale. you should be able to find something that will give you a little better park performance than the bacons you were talking about.
