b.uttersGo take some lessons and any ski will grip properly on groomers and ice.
tomPietrowskiNot really. Go try ski a line TC fast down an icy run and see if you still think any ski can hold an edge.
b.uttersI ski a pair of beat to shit K2 Public Enemy's over ice and hardpack for the majority of the southern winter. Spending money on lessons will be a far better investment than buying a new pair of skis if you can't deal with ice and hardpack. Or better yet, go get your current skis an edge tune and then spend the remaining couple of hundred dollars on learning to ski properly.

HENRYHIBBELNexcept he definitely has a valid point, a skier with proper technique and form should be able to handle hard pack with any ski

DawsonFreezeanything by LIB TECH their skis have magne-traction (wavy edges) so there are more contact points on the snow then your typical ski
50KalFull traditional camber skis will hold the best.
