If you were a billionaire and you could do anything you want in ski industry, what would you do ?
I would like to build such objects as woodward, but in countries 'bad-located' to promote this sport globally, And you ?..
Id colect McConkeys ashes and have him like cloned back alive and then give him bottom of the line marker bindings so he doesnt have to wory about only 1 ski falling off.
I would keep as much as 500k as a back up to live off for the best of my life and give the rest away. Projects would probably include snowflex facilities paired with skateparks across the country, some close to big urban areas. Hooking up mountains with amazing features.
Maybe doing the builds I want to at different mountains. If I could pay for all the costs I could pretty much build anything anywhere.
I'd probably throw a contest series for amateurs that has the same attention to build as the big contests. Something that was accessible for multiple levels. Maybe even 2 separate ones and through in a grom series.
If that wasn't feasible I'd probably buy a mountain, build a skatepark there, hire people that love they're jobs and are good at it, and spend the rest of my life building.
Maybe buy a few mediocre houses around the country in ski regions and turn them into hostels. Make it easier and cheaper for ski bums or anyone to travel.

Since I gave up trolling a couple years ago I'll admit the truth. Not about everything but that one.
Like most ideas it just came to me in a time of need. Necessity is the mother of invention. That winter I was out for the season with injuries waiting for another surgery. Working at mountains is great but not so much when you're unable to ride, and if you get slid into a job that isn't your thing.
That thread I believe I made on valentines day. I was lonely and bored and decided to get married. I was going to shop a picture eventually but didn't have a good computer where I was living. I also don't own any fancy clothes so I was trying to figure out what I could use. Ended up grabbing a picture from a wedding I was in the summer or 2 before that.
Any way, that thread gave me some excitement in my sad and twisted little lonely world.
SPARKNOTES: I didn't get married, picture was me at a wedding sometime before that, and I'm a sad lonely child.

If I had money to invest in the ski industry. I would try and help bring the sport to troubled inner-city youth by opening non-profit, self-sufficient dry slopes or a small hill with a rope tow in big cities across america. At these facilities there would be a rail park and a jump section and of course a slope to learn the basics. I would make it free of charge on first come first serve basis, rent out skis for free and the canteen would be affordable for everyone. Hire park coaches and instructors to help with the kids that are truly interested and help pay for trips to legit mountains so they can experience live out side of the city. I would probably open a few real mountain as well, all self-sufficient with cheap lift tickets, rentals, food and accommodating. Maybe organize a few competitions as well or help pay for some that are underfunded. Basically my goal would be to try and bring the sport away for the rich upper class roots its currently as and help the youth of our communities.
Welcome host and the general putting-out-the-vibe-guy at an Interior BC Heli Operation. I'd pay to just hang out and take laps when a seat is open on a Chopper. I am guessing you could pay $150k a year and they'd let you chill there, right?
I will buy a two interconnected ski resorts and make it as one, with the longest gondola trail. Amenities that's best for all members of the family in all ages. I'll make it an all in one ski resort.
Buy a few pairs of skis, new boots, poles, a fuel efficient SUV, moderately sized cabin slope side. That's all I need/want. Invest and save the rest of the money cause most of the people who come across a large sum of money lose it all.
I would consider buying Alta and make it an all snowboarder resort to spite them.
