K so my mom walks in my room tells me my grandma just died and i'm not feeling anything is that fucked or what .. like i'm not feeling sad or anything . my bro and sis were freaking maybe i'm in shock or something .. who knows any Ns doctors here that could tell me if i'm crazy or something.

I think i'm going to be the same way when my grandma dies. She's been in a nursing home like half an hour away. She's been there for a year and hasn't really seemed like a 'grandma' for a few years because she has dimensia. I'll probably be more upset to see my mom so upset. Don't get me wrong, I love my grandma, but she's just not the same as she used to be.

it depends. you could just be 'cold'. Not necarily a bad thing. One of my friends is like that. If someone dies, he doesn't really care... It's not like he doesn't care, but it just doesn't really effect him on an emotional level.

When people die I really don't have any expression either. Mainly because one, I can't comprehend there gone, and two, the person being gone doesn't directly effect my daily life.

I've never really felt upset about any grandparents or family members dying. I just take it as a natural procession of life. Maybe I'm a heartless bastard. I feel like if my mom or dad or sisters died though, I would flip my shit. I've never really had anyone really close to me die now that I think of it. A few friends have passed in random incidents like car accidents and drug overdoses and I shed a tear or two but pretty much took it in stride. I was super young when my dad's parents died. My mom's stepdad was a heinous asshole that she hated so that was no big deal and her mom had alzheimers for a long time so it was kind of a good thing when she passed.

Death is something no one can tell you how to deal with. You grieve how you want. When my dad died 6 years ago, I didn't even tell a lot of my friends...why? I have no idea....it's just something that is part of life that you have to feel or talk about in the way that helps you through it. Sorry for your loss especially at the holidays.

when my granddad died i went into complete shock. i didn't really feel anything. until about a week later when it hit me, i was pretty sad.

I find that I don't really cry over sad things, but when something really good happens to me then I tend to get teary. When I get married i'll need a few buckets, people will think that i'm upset about who i'm marrying or something.

hey this has happened before to me!..when my great grandma died i like didn't think about being sad or anything. i went to her funeral and stuff ya know but it wasnt sad for me. hmm maybe it was because she gave my brother and sister candy and told me to go away when i was little. idk but i've felt that, but i never did cry. hmm

it may take time for grief to set in, but when my aunt died, i didnt really feel sad for all that long. it depends on how close you are to someone. if my parents died, tomarrow, i would be a complete wreck.

but anyways, i knida have the same feeling right now, my uncle is in the hospital having brain surgery, they did a ct scan of his head today and found 2 toombers on his brain, so hopefuly he makes it through the surgery, and after that i hope the toombers are not canerous, if they are, well thats prety much it, hes got about 6 months to live. this realy hasnt set in untill now when i am typing it out. thanks, i just had to get that off my cheast.

and hey man thats to bad about your grandma, it sucks to lose someone like that. it will set in tomorow and youll realize just how much you miss her.

when my grandmother died..i was the same way just 'oh..that's not good' but i didn't feel that sad or anything. Then i went to the wake, and it started hitting me there..then at the funeral, after it was over, i walked out of the church and lost it..i think it will get to you eventually. If it doesn't, that's ok. it all depends on how people look at death, and how the death of overs affects them.

i think some people just respond to it differently. some people cry and some just don't. nothing too serious. i rarely cry when someone dies but i always feel sad a whole lot longer than criers do. maybe for some it just goes deeper than tears. sorry about your mom.

My best (only) friend was killed in a car crash when I was 6 year old. When my grandparents died, I realized how profound an effect losing the person I was probably closest to was: I didnt really care all that much. I feel worse that I dont care about my grandfather dying than the fact that he died. I dont know. I went through a whole shit load of counseling. I guess I was deemed fixed, but now I just isolate myself from the effects of someone dying, and dont feel sad. Sure, I feel bad that someone died, but it doesnt affect me. I dont cry, no physical differences like some people have, nothing. I'm worried that when my parents die, I'm going to look like a heartless fuck.

i always feel weird when people die because i dont react. if its someone who doesnt affect everyday of your life it takes a whiel before you notice. with my grandma and uncle it never hit me until family reunions or christmas
